I have Springfield XD 45. I am moving to California. What do I need to do in IL and what in Ca to stay legal? I want to take the gun with me of course. Thank you!

What the....fun? This is a specific law related question. Why is this becoming a "California is a dump" convention?

Stop in Colorado and you will find the gun laws to be friendly and the jobs to be plentiful. If you must go to California just go to visit but not to live. The north end of California is not to bad but the further south you go the worse the crime rate gets and the harsher the gun laws. (figures doesn't it)

To be legal you are going to have to lose any magazines over 10 rounds capacity. That's it. There's no registration of handguns or anything like that.

For much of the state you can also obtain a CFL. Not true for the cities though.
