Okay so maybe I should have stated that the little girl is two, so no straightener or flat iron (thats a burn waiting to happen!) and that we love the curls just want something to make her stand out more, and not have "just a fro" lol. Let me know what you think

no products here...wash hair use hair dryer and brush to comb hair straight...then flat iron to finish what the dryer can't!
should last for a few days or until next wash

If you want it curly try sectioning it and applying pink lotion (in the hair product row of any store) Then with your finger wrap the curl into shape by twisting small sections. This is going to take time. Also a nice leave in conditioner (The conditioner? Paul mitchell) may work just as well. Apply it the same way. However if her hair is so curly the pink lotion may work best. My white friend uses it in her curly hair.

well as a former little white girl (now a bigger white girl) with a literal fro, I feel your pain ... :O)
I've found that fighting the curl isn't going to work, the hair wins every time, so you have to find a way to work with it.
I just put some gel specifically for curly hair (my favorite is Herbal Essences totally twisted curl scrunching gel) in first thing in the morning, when my hair is wet, and let it air dry.
(blow drying encourages frizz)
wouldn't say I love my hair, but I have a much better relationship with it now that we stopped fighting and started getting along ...
:O)

I have curly hair, and straightening it isn't always easy. If her hair is thick, sometimes she shouldn't use conditioner because it makes it frizzy. But if she has thin hair, like mine, I usually leave a little bit of conditioner in for moisture. Then i towel dry it, flip my head upside-down, scrunch it, and put mousse or gel in when it is still wet.

To staighten her hair just get a product called slik and shine and a hot iron to do it (cermaic is the best)

If you want it to stay curley then try braids. If not then it will be pretty hard to do. I have puerto rican hair and it is hard to do as well. Best of luck. Happy thanks giving.

My niece has curly hair and all my SIL does is put gel in it and finger curl it. A couple clips to keep it out of her eyes and she's done.

it would probably be best to find an anti frizz product because curls can get really frizzy
