Yes, it is possible.

Not likely, but possible.

I would have a hard time believing any soldier in a regular Army unit, was awarded a bronze star 5 times in a two year period.

( which would be in just one deployment )

Now, it wouldn't surprise me, to lean an Army Special Forces soldier earned 5 bronze stars in a two year period.

Chesty Puller was awarded 5 Navy Crosses but not in 2 years and he was in several wars/engagements. So I tend to think if some soldier told u he won 5 Bronze stars in 2 yrs is a lying POS. And u need to report him just like the soldier who claimed to win the MOH and other scum like him that do the same

The most highly decorated soldier of WWII, Audy Murphy, didn't even manage to win 5 bronze stars through out the war. Chesty Puller, the most decorated Marine didn't pull that one off either. I would not be surprised to find out this clown is posing. Turn him into the local P.D or contact the recruiting office or reserve center from what ever branch this turd claims to be from. Give then his full name( that you know), and his address, physical description, where he works, and what he is claiming. These clowns not only give vets a bad image, they also fraudulently claim benefits from the VA that could go to real vets.

It is possible.

I can see someone recieving 4 Bronze Stars for Service and 1 for achievement. Let us say Captain Jon Doe is assigned to Korea for a one year assignment. He deploys to Iraq for 8 monthes. Due to his deployment to Iraq and is tour in Korea, he could be awarded two service medals. With him being a Captain, that would probably a Bronze Star. Now lets say he PCS to another 1 year assignment location and deploys again. The same scenerio played out and he could be awarded two more Bronze Star Service medals. Then at some point in those 2 years he did something super awesome to be awarded for for achievement.

Understand that not all Bronze Stars are awarded for valor. There are service Bronze Stars that you get for just doing a good job for X amount of time and or just being a certin rank.
Then there are Bronze Stars of Valor, that have a 'V' on them because the person awarded that medal did something heroic.

Possible,... The Bronze Star does NOT require combat !! It could be awarded to a very effective clerk for a General.

Just FYI, here are the guildlines for a Bronze Star:

3. Criteria: a. The Bronze Star Medal is awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity in or with the military of the United States after 6 December 1941, distinguished himself or herself by heroic or meritorious achievement or service, not involving participation in aerial flight, while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force; or while serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the United States is not a belligerent party.

b. Awards may be made for acts of heroism, performed under circumstances described above, which are of lesser degree than required for the award of the Silver Star.

c. Awards may be made to recognize single acts of merit or meritorious service. The required achievement or service while of lesser degree than that required for the award of the Legion of Merit must nevertheless have been meritorious and accomplished with distinction.

It is possible, but highly unlikely... do you know of someone making such a claim? If so, please inform them of the Stolen Valor Act of 2006. The law makes it a federal offense to claim medals, ribbons, or other such military honors when they haven't been earned.
