The Bible does not allow for marriage between two people of the same sex.

There is currently one of the 50 states in the US that allows same sex marriage. It was allowed when a court decided that their law banning it was not properly written and forced them to remove the ban and permit such "marriages".

While America has a mostly Christian population, it is not a Christian nation, and does not use the Bible as it laws. Most of the laws in the US are (are were until the last couple generations) baseon on Bible principles. Each law is voted on by the people of the country (or state). The number of people of others faiths (including Muslim) have been increasing, so the Christian influence in what laws are passed as decreased. So there are many laws being passed today that are not in line with Christian (or Muslim as we share many morals) beliefs.

The bible absolutley forbids homosexulaity. There were 2 cities in the old testament that were completley destroyed by fire from heaven for being homo's. It is not in god's program for anyone to be having sex at all other than married people.
and in the usa, marriage is not legal except for between a man and a woman. There are some judges in a couple of cities that are trying to go against the national law, but they are in the wrong. and are acting illegally.

Islam forbids gay marriage also. If it's being lived correctly
you die in an islamic state if they find out your gay. They put you to death.

USA Law is not the same as the Bible.

The Bible is not taken from it's followers because there are those that follow and those who don't. Christianity is taken from the teachings of Christ.

technically no but remember the bible was written between 1500 and 2000 years ago and was intended as a guide to the correct way of living. its purpose is a good and honest one. unfortunately what is considered wrong today is different from what was considered wrong 15 centuarys ago. the bible contains a huge amount of wisdom. largly the same wisdom as the Koran. unfortunately the bible was written from a different perspective from the koran and that means there are small, irrelivent differences that people will argue over. just as the perspective then is different from now, so those who cannot be flexible in their understanding of a very very old, but very wise book will argue with those who see it as a guide, not a prescription.
people - religeon is a perspective on something that can never be understood. i wish we could start applying the wisdom to daily reality rather than focusing on the unavoidable mismatches between modern and ancient times and calling them out as evil. lets use the minds our shared god gave us.

1. The bible only specifically mentions sodemy, not marriage.
2. First ammendment of the constitution separates church and state (correctly!) so just because it's in the bible, does not mean and should not mean it is US law.
3. All religons (from Islam to Christianity) can be interpretted in different ways

You need to read those articles more closely. She was punished for meeting with an unrelated male without a chaperon. The male in question was the other person who was kidnapped and raped with her. So her punishment is separate from the rape case.

Marriage is ment for one man and one woman. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that it is for two men or two women. Humans are sinful by nature. That is the only reason why the USA law allows it.

No, but it does say that if a man rapes a girl who is not yet married, he has to pay a fine to her father and marry her.

It also says that when a man dies, his widow is supposed to marry his brother.

It says if a woman is not a virgin on her wedding night, she is to be stoned to death. If her husband claims she was not a virgin, it's up to her to prove that she was.

Several Biblical patriarchs had multiple wives. Some, including Abraham and Solomon, had concubines too.

Religion hasn't any right to impede LOVE in any way, shape, or form. LOVE is the overriding principle that everyone should live by. Sexual preference isn't relevant when it's taken at it's deepest level, LOVE. Is it wrong to LOVE? I submit it's not...marriage is a SECULAR institution not a religious one...If you want the union sanctified by God than so be it...that still doesn't make it religious. The institution of marriage was created to provide for the division of property and passing of rights attached there to by SECULAR authorities not religious ones. PEACE!

The USA is a secular nation. It is not based on the Bible, but on philosophies such as those espoused by John Locke and other Freedom Thinkers.

Freedom is more universal than the bigotries of your religions.
