I asked--my 10 year old says he doesn't like not being able to sleep in. My sixteen (almost seventeen) year old used to attend with me--he doesn't any longer, and I don't force the issue. My husband isn't a Christian because he says it was forced on him growing up--I don't want to make that mistake with my son. The Bible says that if I bring him up in the way he should go, he will return to it when he is older. My mother lived this, and indeed, I later returned.

Well personally I think kids don't like going to church simply because they don't feel the power of God, they don't understand! I use to be just like that...going to sleep. passing notes. But now, there is no place I would Rather be..It excites me that I am in the same place with people that want to worship the king of kings and the Lord of Lords.

my biggest compalint is some people are very superficial. Tehy paly church on sunday , but the other 6 days of the week do not reflect the same lifestyle. Their life & doctrine are 2 different things.

When I was a kid I hated church. Now that my brain is fully developed and my decisions are no longer determined by which direction my hormones are swishing today, I love church. My only complaint is that it takes so long to get there and the message ends too soon.

I'm was catholis but my parents don't know that. But I totaly thought that the most boring part of church was everything. From the dipping of your hands into the holy water to the life drainigly long hours.

My complaint is the traffic jams- people usually use the main road to recreation sites on Sunday. If I could use another route, I would.

When I was a kid, it was basically because I didn't understand any of it, therefore it was boring to me. At our Church though, they have a kid specific area that breaks things down to a childs level, uses pictures, props, things like that.

well when i was a kid(im 27 now) i was always afraid if you did not accept jesus christ as your savior you were going to hell for a firery eternity and if you sinned and broke the 10 commandments and didnt ask for forgiveness you were going to hell........i was made fun of regularly by other children during church functions right infront of the pastor and she did nothing....my parents thought nothing of my being afraid but of course i thought back then that it was normal to be afraid and that everyone was.....but now i know different.......
