revulayshun got it before me. Well done.
Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.
Shown clinically to be true, BTW.

Hmmm Bob C? and you're SURE Bill and Ben weren't actually quoting from the Bible?
A companion thought is also found at Proverbs 14:22 "A calm heart is the life of the fleshly organism".

Laughter releases endorphines which is a self healing chemical which is clinically proven. Man, I'm tired of being right.

Proverbs 17:22
EDIT: Benjamin Franklin quoted the Scriptures frequently and some of those sayings are atributed to him.....but are actually from the Bible. Some things he said are often thought to be biblical - like "God helps those who help themselves" - which is not true.......God helps those who can't help themselves.

I can't find that exact quote anywhere in the KJV my friend, however in Luke 6:21 it say's; " Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh." which should be good medicine to those who are are sad today for they shall find mirth in the soon to be tomorrow, Lord willing!

Thats a metaphor that has no meaning. Medicine is something different then a emotion and or a expression in response to something this is funny or what ever.
Laughter is healthy true, but it cannot heal.
