Your best bet is to choose either
Air Asia
http://www.airasia.com/site/au/en/home.jsp
Thai Air Ways
http://www.thaiair.com
Nok Air
http://www.nokair.com

They are all discount airlines, depending on the dates, one may be cheaper than the others, so it is worth checking them all out.

If you want the cheapest airlines with no free food or drinks, cattle call boarding, 15 kg. baggage allowances, having to take a bus to the plane on the tarmack (Air Asia), or don't mind flying out of the older Don Muang Airport, try Nok Air, 12 Go Airlines, Air Asia (which flies out of Suvarnabhumi Airport) or some of the other budget airlines. If you want full service airlines with higher baggage allowances, better service, food and drinks, try Thai Airways or Bangkok Airways, it's not that much more to fly these airlines and to me, is worth the extra money.

I flew Air Asia from Bangkok to Phuket. It was really cheap and was fine. The only thing is make sure your checked bag is no heavier than 15kg or about 30 pounds. (or they'll charge you extra). Have fun!

HI You can go with air-asia ,but watch your weight for your luggage because they will charge you extra .You fly out from the OLD AIRPORT in bangkok to phuket
You could see if the airline has a frequent flyer club and join as you may get extra baggage allowance ( it,s free to join)
for nice guest house see www.lannathaiphuket.com ,it,s owned by andrew and marti 2 very nice people and good price
