Actually, a good relationship with God is not free. It costs you everything you have, but the reward is infinitely greater.
Jesus explains the cost in parables recorded in Matt 13:
"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
Cheers,
Bruce

Well since i personally know him, i gotta tell you most of the time hes a pretty stand up guy.
Except that time when he got drunk and pissed off and made that noob Noah build an ark.
Hes an asshole when he smites, and he smites lots when hes drunk.
The angels and me were thinking of demolishing the bar in heaven, what do you think, would that be a good idea?

Not all gods are free.
Most are imprisoned by dogma and held to a standard that defies natural law.
God needs to cut loose, more.

A relationship with God is free and already has been paid for.
