interesting question. I assume you are not talking about some huge "make or break deal" like infidelity, but minor infractions. Sounds also that you are interested in domestic discipline. All of the above are excellent ideas, but I like the last one best of all. Kissing my feet in public would be a treat, so the third option or something even more draconian would likely be called for.

Well there is option one where you can break up with him or you can humiliate him in public.
I'd make him get on his knees in front of his friends and beg for forgiveness then u walk away while he crawls on his knees saying sorry turn around and slap him across the face. Then keep walking while hes still begging say fine I forgive u make him kiss your feet! Have fun!

So lying should be punished? Wish someone had told me that before. Now that I know I shouldn't lie, you can TRUST ME never to lie again. Never, ever, ever, never.
By the way, I gotta break our date tonight because I'm a secret agent and I gotta meet this foreign spy at a Motel 6 so she can give me some information that will save the world. It'll probably take me all night to interrogate her, so don't wait up for me.
Love ya.

I don't think punishment would be a proper word when refer to a relationship of the romantic kind between two people...you punish children for misbehaving but not your partner..
If there is a patern of lying and you have given him more than one chance it looks like it may be time to move on and find a guy who doesn't lie and treats you the way you should be treated.

If he lies once shame on him, if he lies twice shame on you for staying with him. He obviously is hiding things and your are not his mother you shouldn't "punish" him. The ultimate punishment would be for you to leave him cause honestly if there isn't trust in a relationship then it isn't a relationship, it is a joke.

Girl, if he lies constantly to you, why are you still with him? You dont know what else he's lyin to you about! how can you trust him? you can't! You should leave him or just take a break for a while and tell him that if he wants a relationship, he should be truthful to gain your trust back. And if he doesn't want it back then screw him! you can find a guy with better qualities.

my ex bf lied to me all the time. he admitted to being a pathological liar. there was no way i could ever tell when he was lying about something or telling the truth. there was no honesty in the relationship.
the punishment he should get is you leaving him. you just reinforce his lies when you take him back. b/c he knows he can get away with it and still keep you around.
pretty much you're a dumb girl to him and he'll keep doing what he's doing as long as you keep taking him back.

You have to have high standards. I would NOT put up with a lying, deceiving, unhorable man.
No punishment will make him get straight,. You are NOT his mother.
If I was you, I would simply give him his walking papers, and get a real man instead.
Good luck

If he hasn't learned the first or second time, what makes you think you can change him now?
The best punishment is dumping him and having him see you with another guy.

Wow, I do not think that a loved one should lie to you, but I would not put them through corporal punishment. In my opinion, the punishment should fit the crime.
