It's a truly amazing world. The definition given above is correct. But I've never heard a roach clip defined in such a clinical way.

A roach clip is a clip, or holder, that is attached to a cigarette (usually a marijuana cigarette). Its purpose is to let the smoker smoke the last piece of the cigarette ("roach") without burning the lips or fingers, and to facilitate passing around the roach without dropping it

hahaha.... it's a little clip used to hold the very butt-end of a joint (which is called a roach, btw).
i've always seen ones that are metal.... but, i suppose it could be made out of anything. *shrugs shoulders*
