A religion that said it's okay to doubt wouldn't last in the long run. It's not simply that you would leave, but that if you did leave and so did enough other adherents of that religion, that religion would no longer exist. The ones that still exist, then, are the ones that say that it's wrong to doubt.

It's simply evolution in action.

To doubt what? We are not to doubt God, or His promises, but there are many things we are to doubt.
For KC Superstar, doubting the Holy Ghost is the same as doubting God, the scripture actually says blaspheming the Holy Ghost is the one unforgivable sin, not doubting.
The pastor of the church I attend tells us not to take his word for what he preaches and teaches, but to study for ourselves. After all, man is fallible.
Religion is not the same as serving/worshiping God. There are many types of religions.

It's not wrong to doubt. We all have a level of faith that is given to us by God. Some have stronger faiths than others. Doubts help us to ask questions. My faith is stronger because I researched, prayed and DOUBTED what I was taught as a youngster.

I have wondered about that too though. I think that some religions are afraid for you to ask questions. Afraid for you to use your own reasoning. The thing is .... God GAVE you reasoning, a brain to ask questions....it's a gift and NOTHING to be ashamed of.

It is not wrong to doubt . True faith and belief is built beyond a doubt .I am a preacher and I have found that most christians have confused faith with
knowing something concrete. I believe God will protect me if he does not
I still believe he can .I still have my doubts but I believe beyond a doubt and that is when beleif becomes faith.

Doubting gives way to logic reasoning--logic reasoning gives ways to recognizing logic flaws in dogma and modifiying your position. Modifying your position is essentially the same as forming a splinter religion-splinter church-and those in the church who disseminate the dogma--tell you what to think and not think that is based on their beliefs-lose power.

What religion teaches this? The one I'm a part of says that questioning is both good and normal - and that truth has nothing to fear from close examination.

Doubting help one increase their faith...Thomas doubted but as I see it, it was his way of asking God for confirmation.

Personally, one of the most absurd claims of religion is that of the mind: it's a sin to even THINK God is imaginary. The New Testament says the only unforgivable sin is to doubt the Holy Spirit. Quite ridiculous, indeed.
