I don't think it will take over, but alot of people will be speaking Spanish. I know it's a great asset to have Spanish was a requirement for my job.

No. Languages like empires and religions have their natural physical and geographical limits. For Spanish, the northern limit in the Western Hemisphere is basically the Sonoran Desert and the Rio Grande River.

The Spanish speaking communities in New York and Miami are somewhat anamolies and less than 100 years old. In time, their speakers will gradually go over to English just like Viking colonizers in Western Europe eventually went over to languages like English, French and Gaelic, and Moors who remained in Spain went over to Spanish.

Not necessarily the new language but with things going the way they are the U.S.A will eventually have two official languages: English and Spanish

No, but I think we should make Spanish and English an official language. Lots of things in stores, especially grocery stores, are in both, and I would like to see the United Stated adopt other things, such as road signs in both languages. That would be really cool. They could do this in certain areas, like California, and Florida, and where I live in New Jersey where Spanish people make up a large minority. While they are at it, they could put up signs in Chinese in San Francisco, and other areas with a high Chinese population density. It would make this country more friendly, and perhaps draw more international visitors.

I also think that Spanish should be manditory in US schools, just like English is in some European countries and such.

I think there is way to much xenophobia and racism in the U.S. (from many monoglot English speakers) for that to ever happen. They incorrectly perceive Spanish as a language that is "foreign" to the United States and have no desire to expand their horizons by learning ANY language other than English.

Of course, more people will be able to speak Spanish in the U.S. because of the influx of immigrants - as well as educated people in general, who see the value of learning more than one language.

Hell no, and I have nothing against spanish people, but lets not forget what this counrty was built on and who found it. As long as "their" in cointrol, no. And honestly I think when spanish people come to America, atleast attempt to learn the language.
