It sounds to me like sleep paralysis. This is when the mechanism that paralyses a person during Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep doesn't shut off properly, and a person is paralysed when they awaken for a few minutes. The only muscles not affected are the eyes and the diaphragm. This is a symptom that can often be associated with narcolepsy. The classic triad is 1) sleep attacks 2) cataplexy, and 3) sleep paralysis upon awakening. some people include halucinations when falling asleep also (hypnopompic) in the criteria.

Nothing to worry about it. I had it several times in my childhood specially when I used to get naps in the afternoon time. Just take it easy and remain cheerful all the time.

This is called sleep paralysis -its very scary, but not actually dangerous. It happens because a person is still actually asleep, but aware of their surroundings.
