I'm told that after rapture, all the souls in Hell, as well as Satan will be destroyed once and for all, cast into the lake of fire and ended.
How can Hell be eternal...if it is going to end?? After God destroys the hellish souls, well, that's the END of the torture. And yet, Hell is supposed to be eternal.
Another incongruity in the Bible perhaps??

hmm...
well it is generally acknowledged that hell is eternal torment.
It is also generally acknowledged that after Rapture, Satan and his followers will be cast into the lake of fire and destroyed for good.

bluetick: ah, yeah that makes sense. I know many people who see hell in the literal, old sense- that is, simple death.
Jack- LOL thanks for the laugh.

You should read the Bible instead of listening to others.
" And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for >ever and ever.< " Revelations 20:10

First of all how about getting saved by the blood of the Lamb and then read the Bible. You cannot discern the word with no heart for God. God does not contradict himself, there is no confusion in the word. Taking things out of context is why so many people are going around saying things that aren't even in the Bible or don't mean what the say it does. Consider the whole counsel of God then get back to us. Yes death and hell and satan will be cast into the Lake of fire. it also says that all who were not found in the book of life will also be cast there, it doesn't say they will be destroyed. That is a place of eternal torment, are you going to follow satan there, just to make a point?

Your statements about "the lake of fire and ended" is not supported by Scripture. Here is the answer from the Holy Bible. Hope this helps.
Revelation 20:10
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

What contradictions? Hell is eternal. God doesn't destroy Satan. That is his final prison and he knows it. He is trying to confuse you and its working. Satan is the father of lies and the Bible is God's Word and contains all truth. You can believe is all. Not Satan. Not yourself.

The only contradiction is in your misrepresentaion of the verse.
" And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever."

The Bible doesn't contradict itself, it's the translations. The word"hell" is translated from three words. The Hebrew she’ohl′ and its Greek equivalent hai′des, which refer to the common grave of dead mankind and also the Greek ge'enna, which is used as a symbol of eternal destruction.
So when you read in your Bible the word "hell" which is it, the common grave of dead mankind or eternal distruction?
The Bible talks about the end of hell ( mankind's common grave) because death will be no more and the dead ones in the grave will be resurrected.

The contradiction is all yours. When you talk about the Bible, even the experts look it up. I am not an expert, so who am I not to look it up as well? I noticed that it doesn't say what you are saying:
Revelation 20
10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

In the early 1800s, really in the years right after the Revolutionary War, there's a massive new expansion of the country, the great push westward. And this period sees a number of new developments happening, especially on the religious front. And many of them have apocalyptic overtones to them. In fact, this is the period that gives rise to what is known as the Second Great Awakening. Like the first, it's a period of revival. But it's being put forward as a sense of the great expansion of the country as well. ...
One of the interesting things about the Second Great Awakening is, it gives rise to a number of new religious sects within the American cultural experiment. This is what some people have called the rise of a free market religious economy in America. But new groups are popping up all over the place. We hear of utopian groups that move to places like Amana and Oneida. New York itself is known as the "burned over district" because so many revivalist preachers come from that area. And in fact, it gives rise to several other groups that still exist to this day, including the Mormons, the Seventh Day Adventists, and others who came out of that revivalist temperament of the early 1800's.

Sorry, fraudulent nonsense.
It is not written, have you read (studied) ???
Hell is a long subject. In brief, hell is a separation from God. Hell will be eventually done away with.
Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Hell is different than the Lake of Fire, which is eternal. The former is described in Luke 16:-19-31 9 (which not a parable, as such have no real names, nor did Jesus ever use science fiction), and Hell is more like a holding cell for those who die in their sins. After the Great White Throne judgment in which souls are judged according to their works and their exact sentence meted out, Hell and those within in as well as the grave (representing the physical aspect) are cast into the Lake of Fire.
(Rev 20:13-14) "And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. {14} And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death."
That the Lake of fire is eternal is abundantly testified to.
(Mat 25:31-32) "When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: {32} And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:"
(Mat 25:41) "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:"
(Mat 25:46) "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal."
(Rev 20:10) "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."
(Rev 14:11) "And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."
(Mark 9:43) "And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:"
(2 Th 1:7-9) "And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, {8} In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: {9} Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;"
Thus there is no contradiction , and see here before you allege more:

Just as God and the Lord Jesus are everlasting (Ps. 90:2; Mic. 5:2), as is Heaven, so also is eternal torment.
But what you need is to flee from the wrath to come by "repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ" (Acts 20:21).
