Chinese, which is not a romanticized language. China is gonna have a bigger economy than US. The opportunities are there if that is the purpose of the studying.

i`ve studied a little of both (German and french) as I'm a Spanish native speaker..i found french easier...although i hate their pronunciation and their grammar is not at all clear..it`s full of exceptions..

i will say that German is easier for north Americans..than Spanish..

hahaha most of north Americans are really bad at Spanish even when they are convinced that they have a good level..

i just don't get why is easier for Latin Americans to learn English...

anyway... french is the language of diplomatics...not many people knows German and spanish..well...i would say is among the most spoken languages in the world

Well, in America, of course, it's more important to know Spanish, because of the growing Spanish society.
French is very similar to English, so I would be a bit easier learning it. Plus it's the official language in Europe ( not that everyone in Europe speaks french), it's a beautiful language, and France is a very powerful country.
Me, I don't like German very much, but Germany is also a big and powerful country so you might want to learn it.
If I had to choose, I'd definitely choose french, because I live in Europe, it's good to know it and it's very beautiful!
