Hell is not eternal. It is the lake of fire that is eternal.
"And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for >ever and ever.< Revelation 20:10
"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and >hell delivered up the dead< which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
Revelations 20
JUST A LITTLE PASSAGE THAT JW"s LEAVE OUT.
SPRITE should have read the whole chapter instead of what he wanted to read read. I sure hope he is not a false prophet...........?

No. There isn't. It only speaks of eternal fire. Jesus often referred to Gehenna as that was the "Lake of Fire," back then. In Revelation it says that this will be destroyed, so it is not eternal. Do a search on it.
Historical Background: The Valley of Hinnom (Gehenna) was outside the walls of Jerusalem. For a time it was the site of idolatrous worship, including child sacrifice. In the first century Gehenna was being used as the incinerator for the filth of Jerusalem. Bodies of dead animals were thrown into the valley to be consumed n the fires, to which sulfur, or brimstone, was added to assist the burning. Also bodies of executed criminals, who were considered undeserving of burial in a memorial tomb, were thrown into Gehenna. Thus, at Matthew 4:29, 30, Jesus spoke of casting of one’s “whole body” into Gehenna. If the body fell into the constantly burning fire it was consumed, but if it landed on a ledge of the deep ravine its putrefying flesh became infested with the ever present worms, or maggots. (Mark 9:47, 48) Living humans were not pitched into Gehenna; so it was not a place of conscious torment.

Neither hell nor the lake of fire will burn forever. The word "for ever" means "for as long as time lasts in that specific case." For example, Hannah pledged that Samuel would serve in the temple "for ever." (1 Samuel 1:22) This does not mean he will be their as long as time lasts. Verse 28 clarifies that Samuel would serve in the temple for "as long as he liveth." In Jonah 2:6 the word "for ever" means "three days and three nights." (Jonah 2:17) Furthermore, the Bible teaches that "the wages of sin is" not eternal life in hellfire, but "death" (Romans 6:23). So eternal hell fire is a false teaching that has no support in the Bible. The fire will go out once everything has burned.
And how is heaven supposed to be without tears (Rev. 21:4) if we'll be able to see sinners burning all eternity? Just doesn't make sense.
As to the word "unquenchable", it means that no one will be able to put out the fire until everything burns up.
The website below is full of resources that clarify this important topic. Its very helpful, I recommend it.

And the Devil who was misleading them was hurled into the lake of fire and sulphur, where both the wild beast and the false prophet already were; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Did you notice something? It says the devil was thrown in
and also the wild beast and the false prophet. These are blasphemers against God. It says nothing about people in general being thrown in there. God intends to punish Satan for causing the world to be in such a bad way.

Matthew 18:8 - "If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire." *(Jesus is not necessarily saying you should cut off your foot, He is just illustrating how important it is not to go to Hell because it is constant punishment forever)
Matthew 25:46 - "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
Jude 1:7 - In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

If there's no god, there's no heaven.
No heaven, no hell.
No sin, no hell.
No hell, no eternal damnation.
No torment, no punishment.
People who insist on believing in god also must insist on believing in hell and punishment.
It seems to me such people are sexually sadistic, sexually repressed and antisocial, pathological and suppressive. These people who believe in god, heaven, hell, sin, Satan and eternal punishment cannot stand it that while they are wrapped up in their suppressive belief system, there are those of us who live completely productive and creative lives, having families, sending kids to school, working, buying homes, getting married, having grandchildren, growing old with someone we love, burying our loved ones, voting, shopping, buying, serving the country in the military, becoming artists, doctors, teachers or whatever........buying and selling cars, homes, and at NO TIME DO WE EVER FIND IT NECESSARY TO ATTRIBUTE NOT EVEN THE SLIGHTEST BIT OF RELIGIOUS DOGMA TO AN IMAGINARY ENTITY CALLED "GOD" to help us get thru life.

Eternal damnation: Mark 3:29 sounds kinda "eternal";
But only if Ghostly law is both this world & the to come.
To a void "eternal damnation" simply flush Ghostly law,
leaves you eternal life, of eternal salvation, thru J-->C.
Replaces unforgiveable (Law) with forgiven (Grace).
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

According to Christianity Jesus creates the hell to torture the people he know that would sin, of course this is just before creating them and give them free will that he knew that they will miused , and that is why he created a place to torture them.
if that is not illogical ,,, i Don´t see anything that suggest is true that hell is a place of torment..? unless Jesus is a sadic
Genesis 1:28 talk about marriage.. "God blessed them"
be careful with certain bible "Translation" done by ancient Catholic church that suggest that God is a sadic to control people in medieval times.
Lake of fire is eternal but that is not hell , according to Revel 20:14 that represent the power of God to destroy but one thing is destroy and another is to torture you suffer when you are going to die but as soon as you died you stop the existence.

The Lord Jesus Christ describes hell as a place where there will be "weeping & gnashing of teeth".....in other words....eternal torment.
He doesn't say that it will ever end.....so eternal damnation is definately implied
Matthew 8:11-12
I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
