When I was about 7 years old I was walking home from school past a church . I went inside and found the rope to ring the bell, so I rung the bell.
It was not a church I attended, some how they found out my name & my parents where inforrmed.
My father flogged me.
Lets have some fun with your answer. (a Joke will do fine)

I did that a few times in the dead of night when I was about 14. I never got caught. very childish thing to do though.

But yeah...it was fun.

The last known legal ringing of a Church bell was by Paul Revere.

The bell could only be run once or twice.

When your father flogged you of a capital punishment did he say that you had sinned. If not take your father to court and sue the pants off of him for child abuse.

I must ask this, have you ever tried to ring the bells again. if so you are missing your calling to the house of God.

Anyway in-case of fire ring the bell anyway.

I doubt it was a sin, just a lil rude.
Some towns have ordinances about when the bells can be rang. In a lot of churches they are only rang to signify prayer. Before fire dpts and such came out they were rang to signify emergency, and in some smaller areas, still are.

What are the religious views of your parents? Actually ringing a church bell will destroy any sorcery in its hearing and drive demons away. This is probably why so many churches never ring their bells anymore. Their pastors are probably in league with you know who

The ONLY sin I noted in this question was

"being flogged".

Very sad!!

If I was your mother I might've helped you ring the bell. (Explaining later about boundaries.) But hey, that's me.

I loved to play with my children.

I loved to see the joy in their faces.

Peace.

Maybe you got the faithful to come to church before the priest was ready to start.

Yes, back then ringing the church bell was the priestly equivalent of foot tapping in airport bathrooms.
