“The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5)
if when you die.. you are conscience of tnohing.. how can you be floating around in heaven??\
John 5:28.
28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.
it actually says that we will be resurected from the tombs.. so if we are in heaven... who is in our bodys??
the scriptures say that we will die.. go to hell' or the common grave' which is.. the dirt in the ground... and 'rest' or 'sleep' untill we are resurected.
the only time the bible speaks of going ot heaven is when he talks about the anointed. or 144,000.
Ecclesiastes 9:10
All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She´ol, the place to which you are going.
look up she'ol.. some people think it means a burny firey place.. but really it just means the comon grave.

I don't know why some Christians believe that but the bible is very clear that he will make a new heaven and a new EARTH. I think so many Christians say Heaven but what they really mean is that they will spend eternity in the presence of GOD. -To live among people who love the way He does.
---------
I agree with the previous answer. This is more of a rant than a question. FYI - ranting is not at all how to behave more Christ like.

I do not assume it. The Bible is clear that God intends for us to live in a new Earth He will create after He destroys this one.
People get confused with what the Kingdom of God, the New Earth, and Heaven really are.

At judgement day, both heaven and earth will flee in the presence of God, and no place will be found for them. [Rev. 20]
Then, God the Father will bring a new heaven and a new earth, from which the New Jerusalem will be built. This is the new home of the faithful. This is where Christ said He goes to prepare a place for us.

I suppose we can educate them. You are talking to believers, and I think that showing them the verse is the way to communicate with them. And so, here is the verse:
Revelation 21
2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

This is not a question but a seriously unScriptural statement. While it is true that true believers will reside on a new earth (Rev. 21, 22), you do not have God in you until you are born again by receiving His life giving Holy Spirit. Until that time you are a child of the devil spiritually and an object of wrath.
(John 8:44) "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."
(Eph 2:1-3) "And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins: {2} Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: {3} Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others."
Only by real "repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ" (Acts 20:21) can you be forgiven and made alive by His Spirit, and walk in newness of life (Rm. 6:4). And only those who do and obey Jesus will be in the rapture (1Cor. 15) and enter the Holy city (Rev. 21:1-8).
(Rev 21:2-4) "And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. {3} And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. {4} And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
(Rev 21:8) "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
(1 John 4:9-10) "In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. {10} Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins."
(Acts 3:19) "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;"

Not a Christian. So I can't completely answer this question for your convenience of your point of view.
But, isn't God always testing us?
So, Earth is one ginormous test for us.
We live through the hell on Earth believing in God. We're definately going to make it.
Then Heaven comes in. And we're finally happy souls.

In faith there is no logic. Secondly heaven is not a house but a concept. It means if we do good things on earth we will be happy any where we go after our death as our good deeds would be with us.

Lack of bible understanding.
The problem is (and I was like this) you go to church and you believe what they teach.
When you start to question and seek bible understanding you soon realize that your a sucker.
Bible and religion have nothing in common
