No darlin' it's not. kennel cough is similar to a cold in humans, so thats where you may find a correlation.
My advice on how to help you little fluff baby is to sit in the bathroom with him, put a towel to block the bottom of the door, take a cloth and put 2 - 4 drops of pure eucalyptus oil on it then run the shower as hot as you can focusing the hot water on the cloth ((keep the two of you away from the scalding watter of course ;) )). The steam and the vapor from the eucalyptus oil will help open up your little one's breathing passages, making it easier for them to breath.
By the by, this works on humans too.
You should do it 2 to 4 times a day, basically as needed.
Hope that helps.

No, it's not contagious to humans but it is to other dogs.
If a dog has KC it is wise to keep it away from other dogs.
My Vet recommends Benilyn Paediatric cough medicine, 1 tspoon three times per day for dogs with KC. This helps to ease the throat but I'm afraid you just have to let it run its course, which should be about three weeks.
Two months is rather a long time for your dog to be still coughing. I think I'd have a word with your Vet to rule out any
other health issues.

No kennel cough is not contagious to humans.
There is a lot of colds and coughs going around as well as allergy, sinus problems. And the dog can't get from the people eaither.
I hope all will get better soon.

Despite the popular opinion, I will say it's possible.
There are too many viruses/ bacterias that may be causing the "Kennel Cough". It has happened to me.
No need for thumbs down.

Some strains of bordetella is contagious to humans. The one that normally affects dogs is not. Isn't pertussis a form of a human bordetella?

Not that I know of....but its extremely contageous from dog to dog. Our dog had it when we first adopted him. The cough does take a while to go away.

No, it's not thankfully. But there is a nasty cold with a cough going around my area - most likely it's going around yours too and your family is giving it to each other.
