I swear after I meet a girl we'll be talking (online mostly), everything will be going great, we'll be exchanging stories and laughs and memories and then she'll say something like, "You crack me up!" and i'll say "Well, i'm glad I make you laugh! You do have a pretty smile!" and then i'll go back to whatever it was we were talking about, but after that things are never the same usually. Either the girl seems to steer clear of me or the conversation dies out suddenly, but if I don't compliment a girl they seem to respond more to that. Why is this?

Girls are getting hit on by guys all the time, and when your online and just having fun, A compliment like that, even though you don't mean anything else by it, they hear a pickup line, and that puts a different spin on your just having a good time. Sometimes it is not apparent to you what you said, even a small compliment is perceived as just a line. even though you didn't have that intent.

I think women don't like compliments anymore because the "playa" type has ruined compliments. Now, every time a guy says something nice, women think that they are being played. It is the same reason it is so hard to hit on a woman when you are out, because they are so used to these (jerks) hitting on them and hurting them. Or they think every guy that hits on them only wants to get in their pants. It's terrible.

because back then relationships were viewd as more serious and they were taken ALOT more seriously... back then when a guy would date a girl that would be the girl he would end up marrying.. now its sort of i like you one day next day new girl... sort of thing... guys these days only want one thing and they will say and do whatever it takes to get that one thing.. so girls dont buy into it... and many girls have learned ... cause were all curious.. and we end up regretting it later.. and learning from our mistakes... thats why! share this to your fellow male friends.. there techniques are OLD NEWS!
ill give u some advise.. if u want a girl.. show her u like her by your actions.. treat her like shes the only one you are ever going to love... and make sure its true.. simple as that!

could be she thinks that your trying to start something, or it's just another line, unfortunately alot of women are tired of lines, and it's so common getting hit on that we just back off. I myself don't like being complimented as i am very secure with myself.

well i gotta say i m one of these girls that dont like being complimented or commented on that case. i dont really know why.
i guess it's because i dont want to get my hopes up on starting a relationship or where between those lines. or it may just b that she doesnt want people telling her how she looks cuz she may think that the complimenter is lying.

they probably think you're flirting, and if they dont like you that way, then they would try to avoid you
