Is there any brand of coffee that I can purchase that tastes like Big Boy coffee? I have a Mr Coffee machine (the $40 kind) and have tried several brands of coffee. I wonder what they do at Big Boy that makes the coffee tast so good? I also notice the same coffee tastes at several other places like Bob Evans, Perkins, etc., but think Big Boy has the best tasting coffee of them all.

Most restaurants use pretty good coffee that's at least made out of 100% Arabica beans. Most of the ground stuff sold in stores uses the cheaper Robusta beans and the chaff (skins) are added to the mix.

Eight 'O Clock coffee is pretty decent, particularly the whole bean. It's 100% Arabica. http://www.eightoclock.com/ You can buy fresh roasted coffee online from the same big suppliers who supply restaurants. It's usually excellent if you buy from a place that promises to roast the coffee right before sending it. Usually costs about $10.00 a pound though... http://www.coffeebeandirect.com/index.php

I got one of those Senseo machines for $15.00 delivered through this promotion. http://www.sharesenseo.com/index.jsp?q=e-v32 It makes an interesting cup of frothy coffee very quickly. The pods are pretty pricy... I've become addicted to the Paris vanilla flavored ones and the Dark Roast.

Im sure its no secret to just go into a big boy restaraunt and ask the waitress what brand of coffee they use. And then you can find out also who supplies them. No biggie for bob's .. Maybe you could talk to the manageer as to maybe purchasing some of their grounds or give them money to order a little extra for a happy customer?

They are buying coffee from a commercial supplier. Ask them what they use. I personally perfer to grind my own beans to get the freshest possible. Also make sure that your coffee machine is clean and dont use tap water to make the coffee.
