I think Jesus birthday was about September when the constellation of three stars were aligned to give the appearance of a mega star like a cross in the sky.
Then Magdaia were follows of the stars and were looking out for the coming of a Messier or something like that. It only occurs in say about 3,000 years of so.
You are right when you say the founders of the Catholic Religion did pinch the idea of the December period as it was already being observed for centuries by the Romans. It is said that when they used to enter the church they would walk backwards up the stairs and into the church as they did not want to offend the Sun God.
The Christmas theory of Christos was a Saint who used to go and give presents to the poor children in his area or something like that.
I am trying to remember some of the information that I have read over the last decade on these subjects and only typing from memory. God forgive me if my memory is failing in old age.

Did you ever stop to think that no one STOLE the rituals..that the Pagans converted and took them along with the rest of their culture.. Some people married in and absorbed the rituals, and neighbours just assimilated them. Most people don't go out to steal a holiday.

That depends on how you view Jesus. If you see him as a very spiritual man, who had a lot to teach about love, peace and goodwill towards others then I thinking keeping him in is a good thing. If you make the whole thing about Baby Jesus, Three Wise Men ect without the lessons he taught later, then no.

Great question! Jesus was never in Christmas and so leaving Him out would in reality be accurate. What is the "true" meaning of Christmas?

Indeed. Christmas is a Catholic holiday.
There is NO Christ in Christmas.
However, EVERYDAY should be the day we worship the Lord Jesus Christ, Our Creator and Our Savior!

I don't think it really matters. If you choose to leave Jesus out of it then do so. You don't call it Christmas anyway. There is no need to argue. Peace!

Christmas was never celebrated with out Christ in it
Yule and Solstice were.. And as far as I know those are still around and still as interesting as before
I've been to a festival for both Yule and Solstice and I found them both enjoyable and happy.
Oh and Good old Mid Winters too.. those are fun
Yes I know they can be one in the same but I know people who call it Yule and other call it Solstice. so i kept both in.

the shorter days of light is the meaning of the season
so many cultures observe this
in USA, we worship Shopping Malls and Almighty Dollar, which this year started in late August, advertising for Xmas
Jesus has ZERO to do with solstice or the darker time of year, and the pagan cult of Attis (dying son, resurrecting son / god man ) makes more sense if you also observe Oestra or Easter
