and over this 147 year period the US has been involved in countless wars and conflicts. Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, several South American conflicts (including Bay of Pigs, Grenada), Iraq War I, Iraq War II...resulting in hundreds of thousands of casualties. Does this mean christian leaders are blood thirsty?

just to be clear, i never stated that Atheists, Romans, Seculars..etc., did not start or participate in wars. My question is based on Christian Presidents, and the wars they have participated in, or started...maybe people need to learn simple debating skills....

They certainly were not all Christian's some just said they were so they could get elected. Civil War was fought for states rights and later to end slavery. WWI was not started by the United States. WWII was not started by the United States. Korean War not started by the United States. Bay of pigs was started by the United States. Grenada was not started by the United States it was really a rescue mission. Persian Gulf War not started by the United States. Current war against terrorists not started by the United States.

So you don't have much of an arguement.

Your question itself is trying to correlate these wars with the Presidents being Christian's and it has no correlation at all with being blood thirsty, you said involved in in your question but you insinuated that it was their fault it happened by saying they are bloodthirsty. So if a country is attacked, the President has the responsibilty to act it certainly does not make them blood thirsty Christian's

just participating in a war does not make you bloodthirsty

Also your rude behavior to me shows that this was a loaded question. So learn some manners and grow up.

If you look at history there have been many blood thirsty leaders that never heard of Christ, or at least weren't Christian. Attila the Hun comes to mind. The Vikings, Vandals, Visigoths..Religion has little to do with war and aggression.
Most Presidents are married..does being married make you bloodthirsty. Most Presidents had children, does that make them want to go to war..Statistics can be misleading!

I will only say that maybe every President claimed they were a Christian but that don't mean they were, Now concerning these wars you mentioned Except for the cival war. was either a war that these other countries call on us for Help seeing that the United States is a super power, Or we were attacked by our enemy, as in WW2, when Peral Harbor was attacked, & Iraq War 2, we were attack on 9/11

Yes you are right. No one on earth fights wars except Christians. Any of those wars that you heard about in non-Christian countries, never really happened. For example, the Romans back in the day were peace-loving pantheists. They embraced other countries with open arms and loved them so much that the countries decided to join the Roman Empire because they knew it would be fun.

Don't forget about the Aztecs, Incas, and so on. More peace-loving people who enjoyed playing games with their neighbors and inviting them over for celebrations. The games had nothing to do with chopping off the heads of their neighbors and the celebrations had nothing to do with ripping the hearts out of their friends chests. All this was stuff we Christians made up to bad mouth people we didn't like.

You are absolutely right.

Blanket statements are as a rule incorrect. Of course that in itself is a blanket statement. Seriously, consider a group [either democrat or republican] and poll its members and you will find large degrees of diversity. You will even find many members who while they claim allegiance to a particular group, their politics would place them more appropriately in the other group. This is no different than self professing Christians having often times beliefs and behaviors that do not fit their professed faith.

Hope that helps.

There's being Christian and being Christian. Jesus said hate wealth and love the lord:

"No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money." Luke 16:13

A lot of Christians don't do this. Similarly I suppose these presidents weren't really Christians, in that they don't follow the Christian doctrine to the letter, and just said that they were to be popular.

it does not mean anything.
it is just a very selective sample of population, yet even sampled from the population almost entirely christian through the time scale.

you should resample it from all the earth and create a comparison to the other worlds regimes, and their war ratios.

No. Compassionate. We abhore genocide, taking land that doesn't belong to you and people conquering the entire world so they can rule over us all.

America stands for liberty and justice for all. Freedom comes with a great price with so many men wanting to be dictators.
