We dont have a tub in our house, only a shower stall. My son is 10 months old and since he's been sitting I have bathed him on the floor of the shower with the spray pointed towards the shower wall.
He loves it.

My son loves showers. It's easier for me to bathe him because I can make sure every single part of him is clean whereas in the shower it's hard to make sure you've gotten every bit. Plus, our shower needs to be fixed and runs out of hot water quickly so if both of us need to shower it gets complicated. My son was six weeks old when he had his first shower. He's been taking showers with my husband ever since four months. I normally shower with him in the morning without the intent on getting him clean but then bathe him at night. As far as making some kids like the shower more it would have to be a lighter flow of water. I think some kids are just scared of all the pressure out of the shower head. I hope I've helped. Good luck on your project!

My son hated it as a baby, right up to age 3 or so. It took us a while to figure out that it was the sound he didn't like, of the electric pump. He was fine in the showers at the swimming pool which don't make a noise.
Both mine still prefer baths because they like playing in the water. They're 11 and 8. Years, that is :) But both first had showers as little babies, and still do if that's what's available.
I don't bath them any more, but when I did and they were tiny, I had a seat which had suckers and attached to the floor of the bath (our shower is over the bath). I'd never have trusted it to keep my child safe without me being right there, but it meant I had an extra hand instead of having to hold onto him all the time.

My daughter is 5. She like both baths and showers. When it's late or we are pressed for time, she usually takes a shower with me - it's quicker and she can handle the water running in her face as long as I am in there with her. On nights when I am cleaning or have more time, she loves baths (and SOMETIMES bubble baths.) THe first thing to do is get all clean - then I let her stay in the tub and play as long as she wants to. Oh...and she's been taking showers with me since she was about 3 1/2.

My three - year - old son would rather shower than take a bath because it makes him feel more grown up. He wants to do everything Daddy does, from shower to shave! As long as he's clean, I don't care how he does it. I do supervise him though, and we have the temperature set so he can't get burned. He has been taking showers regularly since he was 2. Most toddlers I know take baths, but as I said, all I care about is that he's clean.

My daughter has loved the shower since she was about 2 and a half to 3 years of age. (I took her in when she was 1 month old, but she got so slippery and she didn't like it, so I waited until she could sit up and then occasionally put her on the floor.... this was a hassle though as I would have to walk around naked while I got her dry and dressed!)
It took her ages to enjoy them as she hated the water in her eyes or on her face. To solve this I would have to point the shower head away from her so it was blasting on the wall. It was a process of illimination, we tried the shower cap (but have you ever heard how noisy a shower cap really is??) which didn't work, we tried a hat. I think taking "barbie" or one of her other dolls helped as she got to wash hair and play! (Shower toys never worked and she always got bored with them)
If I needed or wanted to wash her hair, then we would have to go into the bath as that was just a nightmare. (She started washing her hair in the shower when she was about 5 or 6.)
She is now 10 and as we are on water restrictions in Australia she can only have 4 minute showers. (Before that it was until the water ran cold - about 15 - 30 minutes)
When she was younger it was easier to bath her as I had to watch her anyway and when she had a shower, she opened the door too often and flooded the bathroom. The poor child I watched her in the bath/shower until she was about 7 yrs old as I had a huge fear of her drowning. (I sat at the door reading or we would sing songs).
Now it is easier for her just to shower herself as I am usually getting dinner ready. (Though she yells out every 2 seconds... I forgot my towel! Can you get my PJ's ready... the list goes on!)
I hope this helped....

Yes, all my children love showers. Some more then others but that's fine. My 5 and 11 yr old will jump in the shower and wash and get out. My 7 yr old on the other hand goes last at night because she will sit in there until the water is cold and sometimes I still have to get her out :-). When they were really young it was the opposite. My 5 yr old didn't want to get out and the 7 yr old didn't really hate it but didn't really want it.Good luck

My step daughter would rather take a shower than a bath at 8 yrs. old. She takes loooonnnnggg showers too. Like 30 min. showers for such a tiny body. I don't know how old she was when she started taking them, but she loves them more than baths. Hope this helped a little bit! Good Luck!

My daughters are 4 and 6. My 6-year-old LOVES showers. She says they make her feel like a "grown-up". My 4-year-old, however, HATES them. Baths only for this kid because it's more difficult to play with her bath toys if she has to stand up and shower.

My 5 y/o takes showers with supervision. I have to help her rinse the shampoo out of her hair and make sure she cleans all her parts properly.
I also shower my 2 & 3 year olds when trying to be quick, it's very easy, the only drawback can be rinsing their hair cause they are so short they are out of the heaviest stream of water. So, sometimes I het them showered and have them sit down and continue rinsing their hair with the cup....all in all easy as a bath.
