Mega church ministers have private jets, mansions that revial the White House, and where is the money going? Clearly, they are not donating much of this cash to do God's work? They look good on Sunday morning and make no apology for the excessive wealth in the face of so much hardship and suffering, not only here in this country, but around the world. If this Teleavangelists are truely doing God's work, let them fly coach and buy suits at Walmart like the rest of us. Have you ever seen a skinny teleavangelists?

There are definitely fakes out there who I am sure are not working for God, but themselves. All the while feeding into the spiritual hunger of people. Then there are those who do God's work despite the size of their church. They give and they receive. God has always granted riches to some of His children. (Abraham in the Old Testament was a wealthy man.) When you meet that person, however, you would not know that they have a lot of money. That's because they remained humble and share with those in need. They manage God's money wisely and are blessed in that way. So judging a Christian by the size of his bank account is not right, but by the humility he has in which case the person will not put money first, but God, and will not change should he lose that money. We have poor and rich folks at our church. One man needed a root canal badly but couldn't afford it and had no insurance. Well, when he finally did see the dentist, he was informed that someone at our church had paid for the entire treatment. He doesn't know who and that is not important. God saw it and it counts in His eyes as having done something for the least of His children.
Those who abuse this are not my worry, but God's.

It does give one furiously to think, does it not? I'm sure they started out with the best of intentions, but somehow Jesus does tend to get lost in the equation when you're dealing in millions of dollars, airtime, product etc. I saw my own pastor of several years ago being dazzled by the rich American megachurch pastors paying for trips for him and wife to the US (I live in Europe), he saw all the credit cards, gated homes and luxury cars and began to want the same for himself. He already had a much nicer private home than the majority of his flock, who lived in small, lower income-type apartments, but this exposure to moneymoneymoney made him want more and more. His ministry underwent a definite change and a year later I found it best to leave the congregation and find a church that preached more Bible and less prosperity.

I believe Jesus Himself said, "No man can serve two masters...you cannot serve both God and money." Obviously this was a problem he was already aware of, before Christianity as such even got started.

I'm not saying you have to be dirt poor to be holy, or that pastors and missionaries should be on the edge of starvation all the time. I'm just saying that extreme wealth doesn't seem to add effectiveness to one's ministry, or increase the value of the Gospel message.

Well it is not a sin to be rich
But what you do with that wealth will tell what kind of person you are

I'd say a guy that owns a huge estate and flashy clothes and flies all over the place in private jets and cavorts with celebrities might not be the best example of living the life he claims too..

But if he is very rich lives modestly and donates alot of his time and money to good causes.. I think he or she is a good example of living a good life.

Have you ever seen the Bahai Faith in Haifa, Israel?

The gardens and steps? The buildings!

Have you ever seen St. Peter's Rome? What a mega Church!

What's good for the Bahai and the European Pope is good for Daystar Christian TV and TBN Christian TV.

This know that in the last days perilous times shall come , for men shall be lovers of themselves , covetous ,
boasters , proud , blasphemers , disobedient to parents , unthankful , unholy , without natural affection ,
trucebreakers , false accusers , incontinent , fierce , despisers of those that are good , traitors , heady ,
high-minded , lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God , having a form of godliness but denying the power
of it ; from such turn away . For this of this sort are they who creep into houses and lead captive silly women
laden with sins , led away with various lusts , ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth

So I guess atheists who own corporations & jets are ok in your eyes?

What's the difference?

The minister seeks to get souls saved......that's the great commission given to us by Christ.

What does the rich atheist have to offer?

Nothing.........
