I loved "The Waltons"! More important, I miss my late mother, with whom I watched the show.
I have the show on DVD, but I miss watching the "kids" grow up. I wonder what they're all doing now (the characters, not the actors, though I wonder about them, too). Let's see.. John-Boy would be almost 90, that would make Mary-Ellen about 88, Jason 87, Ben 86, Erin 85, Jim-Bob, 83, and Elizabeth 81. Wow!

I loved the Little House on the Prairie, I often wanted to be Laura, I read the books before the TV series and loved them too. I am currrently reading Little House in the Big Woods to my daughters, they are fascinated about life back then. Although they did ask was it like that for me when I was little!!
Do you have Hallmark on freeview as they often have programmes like that on.

It was indeed a time of a certain sort of innocence and a gentle humour. It was the beginning of "Last of the Summer Wine" and "The Two Ronnies" and the heyday of "Morecambe and Wise".
"(Whatever Happened To) The Likely Lads", "The Liverbirds", "Porridge", "All Creatures Great and Small".
"Alias Smith and Jones" (Hannibal Hayes and Kid Currie, not Alias Smith and Jones - Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones)
"Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)"
"Butterflies"
"The Sweeney" (OK, a bit violent)
I could go on... and on... and on....

I loved both of those. They sometimes show the films on sky. I wish they would make more programmes like these.
