No. But my friend's atheist husband ridiculed me so much every time he saw me that I had to sever the friendship with her. It was making both of us uncomfortable while he was having a great time. After he killed himself, my friend and I reconnected. Thumbs down all you want, it's a true story.

I have never been physically attacked. I have been verbally attacked...that was back in the day several years ago when I was a professing "christian" and yet, had no real knowledge of the Bible or history or world events. The guy, this atheist who knew way more about the bible than I did, proceeded to proverbally eat corn flakes outta my skull...what an inspiration...I soon cracked open the Good Book and I've been hooked ever since. Now, 11 years later I wish I could track that guy down and thank him for being such a jerk to me. Love in Christ, ~J~

Although you may experience different forms of attack, that is on all sides.

As for me I tend to answer questions that are not provoking, but a genuine interest in my beliefs ?

I don't invite many physical attacks may be on account of my physical stature and race discription that has silenced alot of people at work,so that's one less thing to endure ?

As a skeptic I have been physically attacked for my non belief. I think it is more common that persons calling themselves "Christian" have murdered, tortured, and vilified those that don't have the same beliefs that they do than the other way around. Yes I know that you can point out specific cases where "Christians" have been persecuted, but there are many more cases where "Christians" have persecuted others in the name of their god. Also it is important to note that followers of "Islam" are just as guilty of these crimes as anyone else.

You're more likely to be bashed by a Bible or hit over the head with a crucifix. There have been an untold number of conversions to Christianity made at the point of a sword than anyone can count. It would be surprising to see that anyone has had their faith taken from them in such a manner.

You mean like China (atheists) killing and torturing all religions even Tibet where the Dahli Lama lives and trying to kill him. There are thousands of Religious people being attacked and imprisoned in China every day.

Not me.

But I've never been physically attacked by anyone. Lucky me, huh? :-)

(okay, I'm not counting the playground as a kid. I got my ar$e kicked there, but I don't think it was an ideological argument. Unless you consider "beat up the nerd" ideologically motivated....)

It seems to me that the more "religious" people are the ones doing the attacking.

You do realize that atheist are very much the minority in the US and while there is a greater percentage of atheists in other parts of the world, they are still the minority in most places.

Very few. Most Atheists don't live by their emotions. Unlike Christians. And such a thing would not happen in a first world nation because we don't behave like barbarians.
