Because their god is a god who said to love your neighbor as yourself, as long as that neighbor believes the same as you do.

I'm Catholic, and I critique other people's beliefs. Sometimes my study validates my current beliefs, and sometimes it exposes my beliefs as ill-founded.

Since "What must I do to be saved?" is the single most important question we can ask, it is well worth discussing. Until a person arrives at the right answer, one should be insecure.

One error of the fundamentalists is their unchristian, unbiblical faith in eternal security. Nowhere does the Bible or the Church teach that once you pray a sinner's prayer, then you are secure in your heavenly destiny.

Rather, Jesus teaches us that salvation requires endurance to the end:

Matthew 10:22: And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
Matthew 24:13: But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
Mark 13:13: And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
Luke 21:16-18: You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. All men will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. By standing firm you will gain life.

Fundamentalists also go wrong by denying the requirements of baptism (Mark 16:16; John 3:5), self-renunciation (e.g., Matt 5:3, 10), obedience to God, doing what is right and just (e.g., Luke 10:25-28; John 12:50), adopting the humility of a child (Matt 18:3-4; 19:14), and eating the bread of life (John 6:51, 53-54).

Cheers,
Bruce

Non-starter I'm afraid - everyone has some degree of insecurity - part of human nature. Faith validates beliefs, which don't belong to the individual (not their own) but is a gift from God.Try another tack.

Why could I witness?" a number of motives could are evoked. First, because of the fact Jesus instructions you to: "bypass consequently and make disciples of each and every of the international locations, baptizing them interior the call of the father and the Son and the Holy Spirit," (Matt. 28:19). additionally, Ezek. 3:11 says, "and bypass to the exiles, to the sons of your human beings, and talk to them and tell them, in spite of if or no longer they hear or no longer..." 2d, you may witness considering the fact which you like the unsaved (in case you do no longer, you may). the main loving concern you're able to do is recent the gospel in hopes of bringing others to salvation. Galatians 5:22 lists love as between the fruit of the Spirit. it is love's nature to offer. Take as an occasion John 3:sixteen, "For God so enjoyed the international that He gave His basically begotten Son..." Love provides, and in case you have basically a small area of His love, you will want to offer to others. third, witness because of the fact that's a clever concern to do. Prov. 11:30 says, "...he who's clever wins souls." Now, i be responsive to i'm no longer an extremely sensible individual. yet, considering the fact that God says i'm going to be sensible to win souls, or attempt to, then large, permit me at it. i want to be sensible in God's sight. Fourth, witness to maintain human beings out of hell. Hell is a terrifying place of utter discomfort and eternal separation from God. people who're no longer stored bypass there. Witnessing is an attempt to maintain them out of hell. 5th, witness because of the fact it pleases God and brings glory to His call. and ultimately, witness so they might discover the affection and fellowship of God (a million John a million:3), the suitable of all treasures. i will think of of no extra advantageous present than salvation. It frees the sinner from sin, it supplies the misplaced from damnation, and it exhibits the actual and residing God to those that don't be responsive to Him. The angels of heaven rejoice a great deal whilst anybody passes from judgment into salvation (Luke 15:10). shouldn't we as Christians rejoice too? shouldn't we weep over the misplaced? shouldn't we ask the Lord of the sector to deliver employees into His harvest (Luke 10:2)? extremely! The salvation of others is the purpose of your efforts. the affection of God is your reason. Is there something extra advantageous? So, supply.

yes, it is a sign of insecurity. they are insecure because they don't have a strong foundation for their beliefs. the Bible can be distorted, as so many of them have already proven through their actions, so they don't have a strong reason to believe. even in history, they are nothing but heretics. even with the preservation of the Bible these heretics never ever contributed anything in the preservation of it. it's the Catholic monks who preserved it, but these heretics, now called Bible-fundamentalists, did nothing but distort the Bible, not to mention history, to fit their own personal agendas.

Some of the bestest fun I've had is challenging (critiquing) christian/catholic beliefs.

I find this question no different than a christian crying about an atheist raiding their topic/question.

All fundamentalists feel that way, irrespective of their religion.

It all stems from Rome, Italy, from the Department of the Defender of the Faith and Chief Heretic Burner. Apparently Rome copied St. Paul who at one time called himself Saul and went around killing all non-Jews or Jewish heretics.

All opposition and free thought must be crushed.

It's called the Tiananmen Square syndrome: non-believers must be regularly suppressed.
