Facebook is a great way to meet people not only for dating, but for networking, meeting people who have similar interests, and making friends. It is a lot easier to approach someone on Facebook then at a public place. You can first make friends with her, talk to her via e-mail a bit, find out if she is dating anyone and then perhaps offer her to meet. That way it doesn't look like you are just asking her for a date, and there shouldn't be fear of rejection, because Facebook is a networking site first of all and people are friendlier then on a traditional dating site.

Sending messages in any way is not childish or silly, If you really like this girl from this dating site then do something, Knowing what you want and knowing how to get it and doing something to get it is being more sensible. It doesnt matter if you do it by facebook or talk to her directly. You are stupid if you let things slide and be forgotten because you dont know what to do. Good Luck And get a life. lol :)

girl on dating site --> either desperate, or adventurous..
For looking in a dating site, you somewhat fit the abovementioned descriptions. I mean really, it's up to you. I mean if you're in for love, then the girl's there, i mean you could have met her very soon anyway. You might strike gold and get to go out with her and eventually be happy with her, or you could just be wasting your time. But if you're adventurous, then that's an adventure for you! It's always your call. If you feel that facebook's the way to go, then go for facebook. Hey, this is life, you're not really violating anything in this situation. So it's up to you, give it a try, or not. It's your life. But remember, if you do choose facebook as your means of starting, don't forget that for relationships to grow, being personal is still unparalleled, and is always the way to go.. It's essential.

flip a coin
heads - send her a message "hey - don't i know you from somewhere?"
tails - contact the girl through the dating website OR just move on...
