I moved from Maryland to Virginia but still have my Maryland drivers license. I also just bought a car registered in Virginia. VA DMV says I need to get my Virginia license within 60 days. What happens if I don't?

If you don't, you are in violation of VA law, and cheating the state out of taxes. You are using roads as a resident that you aren't helping to pay for through your license fees.

As such, if you are stopped and found to be in violation of the law, you will get a ticket, or perhaps if it's the first stop, a warning. Eventually you will get a ticket, and you may wind up having your car towed and impounded.

Turn in your MD drivers license for a VA one, and change over the registration on your cars, and you won't have to worry about it.
