Would not an omnipotent god be so superpowerful that he could have created everything in a microsecond?

or even in such a short amount of time that it was immeasureable?

so why did it take him 6 days? (or as some say 7 days) (or as others say, millions of years)

so "just smile", he couldn't have taken the same care and still made it in a microsecond? I thought you said he's omnipotent...

He is omnipotent and you're right by saying that He could have made the whole universe in a microsecond. I don't know why He didn't, there is a reason for the way God made things and a reason for the fact that He decided to do it over the space of 6 days. Obviously I don't know the reason, only God does.

They had the day of equal up to seven b/c it was an important number back in the day. Abraham apparently brought a Sumerian myth of creation over, turned their snake creator goddess into the evil tempter and took the seven day concept of the ancients and wove it in. Not sure why any number was important but the ancients were into math.

He could have, just like He could have done a lot of things that we as humans think might have made more sense. He could have not let Adam and Eve fall into sin. He could have sent Jesus to save the world from sin before the flood. He could bring the Spirit of conviction upon every person alive today and give them the gift of faith and save each one of us. But God is sovereign and his wisdom goes far beyond that of his finite creatures. He does what He wants to do, when He wants to do it, and how He wants to do it, and no one has the authority to call Him on the carpet and demand an explanation for why He doesn't do things the way that we might think that He should do them.

Psalms 115:3 But our God is in Heaven; He has done whatever He has pleased.

Romans 9:18 Therefore He has mercy on whom He will have mercy, and whom He will, He hardens. 19 You will then say to me, Why does He yet find fault? For who has resisted His will? 20 No, but, O man, who are you who replies against God? Shall the thing formed say to Him who formed it, Why have you made me this way? 21 Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel to honor and another to dishonor? 22 What if God, willing to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much long-suffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction; 23 and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy which He had before prepared to glory; 24 whom He also called, not only us, of Jews, but also of the nations?

In Hebrew, day actually means a length of time. We'll never know how long it took him, if he exists.

If God is omnipotent, he can do what he wants.

Just because the potential is there, doesn't mean you have to use it. A bodybuilder who can lift cars with one hand won't do it all day. God has no need to prove his power.

He may be omnipotent, but he also has one hell of a drinking problem. Most of those 6 days were spent in a alcoholic haze. Haven't you ever wondered why he rested on the 7th? It was because he had one hell of a hangover.

To God a thousand years is as a single second and a single second is like a thousand years. God is not a physical creature constrained by time as we understand it. That part is all figurative just to divide the story up into parts.

Unlike some people into thinking before they ask!
