The time you had pain under your left rib, it was due to pancreatitis. Gallbladder pain is in the right hypochondrium (below right rib margin) or in the right shoulder.
Treat the pain as if it is cardiac pain, that will be safe.
Good luck!

I had my gall bladder removed this time last year, when I use to have attacks, its was always under my ribs right in the middle of my chest, it was never either side, just in the middle...

Eating tomatoes always set it off, it wasnt just oily or fatty foods, even tho my doctor told me it was, but having a tomatoe sandwhich was a nightmare..

The first time I ever had an attack I didnt know what it was and thought I was having a heart attack, I always felt dizy, got the sweats, and couldnt breath properly like I was hyperventating... I also had attacks that lasted from 20 minutes up until an hour or so sometimes.. and the only way to settle the pain a little bit, was on all fours, but even that didnt always help, so they (surgens) removed my gall bladder last year and since then Ive had nothing but more problems!

And eating anything now is even worse than before!

Gallbladder pain is usually under your right breast but can be referred anywhere. If you have a heart condition, you need to listen to that first. Do you have nitro? If you do and you start having pain in your chest, try one of those first. If it makes the pain go away immediately, these pains are probably cardiac in origin. If it does nothing, try some tylenol and see if that helps. Remember your warning signs though for all cardiacs - chest pain associated with arm pain, shortness of breath, sweating or nausea should have you take your nitro times 3 doses (remember the 3 strikes, you're out nemonic) which means you take your nitro 5 minutes apart for a total of 3 doses and if the chest pain is still present, you call 911 to be transported to the nearest ER.

Honestly, it depends on the person.

I always had my gallbladder attacks directly in the middle of my body, right between my ribs. I ended up having it removed and now have to watch what I eat, since I no longer have the aid of breaking down fats in my body.

With reoccuring pains, I would go back to the Dr. and ask for another exam to rule out more gallstones. You were treated and cured once, but your body may have made more stones and need to be treated again, or have the gallbladder removed completely.

I would not leave something so serious as a possible heart attack to a website, trust your Dr and go see him/her again.

The pain is usually on the right side it can be in the abdomen region or believe it or not in your shoulder (on the right side). People with a blocked gall bladder usually have the most pain after eating things like cheese.

Right side because the gall bladder is directly below our liver.
If your gall bladder were to have a hole you would be dead because of the acid which can disintegrate some parts of your body.
