It's hard to believe in a day and age when we can call a friend from across the world that people still think the Holy Ghost is such a myth. In the last hundred years we have changed the entire history of mankind. We put our faith in cars going 60 MPH, airplanes that take us above the clouds, and over bridges that can sustain the weight of 1000s of tons.

Faith in our day and age is abundante. And the result of faith in these things has had voilent endings enought times to convince us that we are never 100 percent safe.

Every one has faith.

I like how some one said Christians have blind faith. If going over a bridge is faith proven and a prayer answered is not then I guess we think different.

faith is like hanging on a rope in the end of the cliff. it is essential. but it is a persons right to have faith in what he wants to have faith in. and one may very well change his views over the years. ultimately the one true faith will triumph and the others will perish.

AMEN- for those who say that our faith in God is blind- I from personal experience - people say that they can only believe what they see- however I can say after I trusted Christ by faith- my eyes and my heart was open for the first time.
I WAS BLIND, BUT NOW I SEE!!!!!!!!

Amen. I've experienced time and time again how easy it is to trust God for my protection, provision and joy. Most people still think mythology is still a myth but gene manipulation will soon change that.

There will come a time that they have nothing to trust in but God.

Yes. Everyone does have faith to some degree. But secular faith is based on observable evidence, tangibles and past experience.

It's not perfectly blind.

There is a difference in "faith" in things we can objectively and independently test and verify (like cars, airplanes, science" and faith in magic sky daddies and Santa Claus.

That you don't see the distinction doesn't really surprise me, but it leaves me a little sadder.

There is a massive difference between faith, as in the things that you mentioned, and blind faith, that is required by the religious.

I think it was W.C. Fields who said it best, "Everyone should believe in something. I believe I'll have another drink!"
