My wife and I just returned from another trip to Italy...we can't get enough. We're both Italian-Americans and we love being in Italy because to us it feels like home. The way of life stands out to us as the biggest attribute - a sincere appreciation for art and history, high quality food and an approach to eating that is relaxed and healthy, a laid back approach to life with better priorities (not like the rat race in America and other places). I could go on and on...
We've been to: Rome, Florence, Venice, Palermo, Taormina, Salerno, Sorrento, Avellino, Parco Cilento, Paestum, Cinque Terre, Milan, Pisa, Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano and Genoa. Our next trip will explore Perugia, Ravello, Parma, etc.

I traveled for a week around Italy to Rome, Florence, and Venice. I'm a teacher and brought with me 9 students. We all had a great time! The people were friendly and helpful. I tried to speak Italian but most everyone helped me out in English, which was very nice. I can't wait to go back and see more of the country.
You are very lucky to live in such an amazing and historical country!

I think Italy has more places of interest in its 300,000 sq meters than any other country in the world. It's packed with historical legacy, artistic treasure, stunning natural beauty, very rich culture and inspirational designs. And right next to this there is dirt. I don't understand why the Italians don't see that their cities are dirty, even after they've traveled to, say, Prague and seen that it really is possible to maintain old cities in a good condition.

The italian people make great friends but bad bosses.

I love Italy! I've been to Rome, Venice, and Naples. I cannot wait to go back. In fact, I would like to retire to Italy if I can afford it.

What's not to love? The art, the history, the geography, and the food are all terrific. Even the language is beautiful!

And the Italian people were wonderful. Very patient with this tourist attempting to parlare italiano.

I have travelled all over Italy from top to bottom. Great country, great sights, great history, great culture, great food, great wine. To top that the people are really friendly. Some insights from my travels are...,

1)You just have to do something about your traffic and your drivers, they are manic, rude and downright dangeous.
2) Rome is a bit too crowded, you can't help that though, and the underground is excellent, so ban cars from the centre.
3) Capri is way, way too expensive and elitist.
4) Venice is beautiful in all seasons, but can smell a bit in summer.
5) Pisa is absolutely lovely.
6) Florence is great for culture but also for fleecing tourists.
7) Sicily is beautiful and comparatively quiet.
8) Chianti is considerably over rated, I have never ever had one I liked, but Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Barolo are really nice.
9) Too much pasta and pizza is not good for your waistline.

Ciao!

I'm currently living here in Napoli. Most people say how bad the area is but i am loving every minute of it. The people here are so amazingly welcoming and friendly. I am in love with just about every inch of the area the views are amazing and it is the center hub of so many wonder full destinations. Lastly I don;t think I will ever be able to eat American food again. I am so spoiled to the kitchens here. I am planning on living here as long as possible.

Love your country especially Rome and the coast down to Sorrento..I'm fascinated by your ancient history and captured by your food...and your beautiful women...Italians are in the main very friendly however they do have a fiery temper and exaggerated driving skills also...you may have noticed .....they cannot talk without the use of their hands !!!
