How old is your daughter? If she is a minor, I wouldn't pull him aside. Chances are, he will tell her and she will think you are "attacking" him and defend him even if she doesn't really like him that much. If anything, you should act like you LOVE him. That always made me see my boyfriends in a new light. If my dad like them, there MUST be something wrong with them. :) PLUS, if he thinks you like him, he'll let his guard down and tell even more lies that can be subtly exposed.
More info on this Iraq thing please, how do you know he wasn't there?

Well this is tough but hre goes, telling him to STFU would probably piss him off, why is your daughter with such a loser? and pulling her to the side and letting her know that he is FOS is your best option. I am sure you have had this convo with her??? but if not then you need to, other than the lies is he a good BF for her and if not then you should open her eyes. Good Luck!

Call him on a few lies in front of everyone. It will not only break him, but embarrass him also. Tell your daughter that she needs to pick better next time.

It's tricky cause you dont want to upset your daughter.
Assuming they are in their early 20's, I'd take him outside
and have a man to man chat.

Call him on them, and embarrass him. You definitely need to talk to your daughter. Tell her that if he is lying about these things, then what else is he, has he, or will he lie about.
