What state? Here in Florida you can get up to 5 years for burglary and have to pay up to $5000 in fines... it's a 3rd degree felony here. If he has no previous criminal history.. and is relatively remorseful... he'll probably get off with probation or something like that... again -- it all depends on your location and circumstances surrounding the case.

Not knowing where you are......its going to depend on the D.A. and the judge and the crime.
Could be probation and community service to several years in prison.

Depends on what you broke into and what you stole. Could be as little as a year or as much as 10

if NOT ARMED ROBBERY.
Prisons are overcrowded.

First time caught you mean. What other offences has he been convicted of. If he has other theft/dishonesty convictions hopefully he will do time. Are you asking yourself where you went wrong?
