I want to ask my pastor what he thinks about something but I don't want to sit through the lecture which I'm sure is to follow. Also, I want him to have time to think through what he says so that he gives a well thought out answer. I'm thinking about sending my question via e-mail and explaining that I wanted to give him time to think through his response to my question. Do you think it would be insulting to start an e-mail like that? Do I need to specify why I'm sending the question via e-mail? All of my previous questions have been live and in the presence of his wife. (I am also a female)
This question is one that I need to know his personal take on. Otherwise, I'd probably ask someone else.

I would say something more like, it's a complicated issue and I didn't want to take up too much of your "in person time" with it since I know you're very busy.

Could you help me with my question please??

All his answers come with a lecture for no extra charge. There may however be a charge for an answer without a lecture.

I would ask someone else.

Best Wishes

Email is what I would have suggested. Just tell him that you did not have time to stop by for a chat.

Avoid him. He has psychological issues.
