Before Jesus, God didn't really know what the human experience was like. He used to boss the human race around, test their faith, get angry with them, destroy entire cities if they were misbehaving (ie: the old testament).
He put himself on earth in human form to get to know humans better and to see for himself how hard it is to be a human, with a mind prone to illusion and a body open to temptation. That's why the message of Jesus differs from the message of the old testament God. He had experienced life as a human and he decided to forgive us for being weak and fallible.
That's what Christianity is all about - forgiveness and nothing more. A lot of people, including Christians, forget that simple fact all the time!

Jesus was the son of god not god. On this account the Muslims and Jews are correct.
John 14:28 + 5:19 & Hebrews 5:8 all tell us God is Greater than Jesus.
Philipians 2:9 , 1 Corrinthians 15:28 &Matthew 20:23 Jesus was exalted in heaven but still subject to the father.
1 Corrinthians 11:3 ,John 20:17 & Revelation 1 :6 Says God is the Head of Christ.
Using logic instead of the bible .
Who did Jesus Pray too?
Who ressarected Jesus when he was dead ?
Reguarding the time of the end The bible says not the angels nor the son know the hour ,so if Jesus is God he should know.
Concider also no Christian , Jew or Muslim believed in the trinity untill it was made up apx 320 years after the death of Jesus.

By the way G'day mate

The devil could only do what Jesus allowed him to do. Jesus said to the devil, "[It is written], you shall not tempt the Lord your God." ( Luke 4:12) ( Matt 4:7)

Jesus said he was the son of God, not God, and that his father in heaven was God. This is most clearly emphasized in the gospel of John.

I know this is where Muslims and Christians part ways in interpretations. I wrote a small study where I went into detail about this topic, explaining this, since sometimes I think Christians cannot explain this well. You are welcome to this small study. I especially wrote it with Muslims and Jews in mind, since this is a point of difference between the groups. You do not have to accept the thoughts there, but at least you would understand the Christian doctrine better.

Let me know and I can email it to you. God bless you for being so open minded to the religions of others.

Well, some people believe that Jesus was what can be called an avatar, a manifestation or embodiment of god in a mortal body.

Because the body is mortal and desires things, like sustenance, there may have been a chance for natural greed (sin) to have occurred.

But I don't really believe the Temptation happened the way it's recorded, for only Jesus was present and he obviously didn't tell anyone in the Bible "Hey, this is what happened!"

A story with a lesson, but not something that I believe should be taken literally.

SDW is correct.

Jesus is 100% human who could be tempted and 100% God.

Jesus is both at the same time.

Something the human mind has difficulty in comprehending.

I like the fact that people ask questions. I don't agree with religious organizations which don't allow questions or who punish their followers for asking questions.

I am a Bible believing Christian.

And I do appreciate your question and the way you asked.

Jesus is God. But he came to earth as a human with one exception he is and was Perfect.
Yes we are all tempted by the devil however Jesus did not fall for the temptations even though he had fasted for 40 days. he just answered with Biblical answers. All other humans have a choice to follow God and also is tempted. humans are weak and we often fll the temptations unlike Jesus who is God.
When i was younger one way it was explained about God being God,Jesus, and the Holy Spirit i's something like when it's said Me, Myself and I it's all one person.
God,Jesus , and teh Holy Spirit are without sin.
I hope this helps

Wasn't the devil as quickly as an angel of the Lord? does not devil might desire to be between the main imbecilic beings in historical past to think of that he might desire to tempt a Being whom he might desire to understand is all-powerful and omniscient? How can the devil be such an amazing agent of deceit, as many look to have self assurance, if he's that fully stupid? As with plenty else in faith, the tale does not make experience. human beings will provide my remark "thumbs downs" and that's great. it may be greater advantageous, nevertheless, if somebody gave a rational clarification for it. Edit to djmantx: thank you for addressing my inquiry. Did devil no longer understand that Jesus grew to become into God? if it is the case, then your clarification on the difficulty works and that i settle for it (whether I nonetheless should not be changing on your perception device any time quickly). besides the undeniable fact that, if devil did understand that Jesus grew to become into God, then what difference does it make that Christ grew to become right into a human? he remains God, he remains omniscient and all-powerful, and the devil could might desire to be brainless to no longer understand that and act (or no longer act) in accordance to such understanding.

He was tempted but He resisted. There was a human side to Jesus because He was on this earth as a man. Obviously, the devil tried to tempt the Son of God and he failed miserably.

Well Look befor Jesus came to earth God had spoken thru sevral Prophets that one would come to save the people. Know the question is to save from what? The delema is that men have been seperated from God. Men have choosen not to believe in God that what he says is good. So Men going away from God had the conclution that men choose them self what would be good. And in that case we are all sinners. We do make mistakes and are selfish witch harmes others. But we also harm God because he had ment that men would be to take care of the world and not destroy and morder. So God spoke thru the prophets that he would send one to save the world from being seperated from him and witch would renew mind heart and spirit that men as it was ment to be ask for Gods help and live to his guiding lines. In the prophets it is writen that the one to come would be I quote: Isaih 9.6 For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the goverment will be on his shoulders. and he will be called wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of peace.
Now Just to keep short how is the everlating Father if not God?? So God Comes to earth to reviel him self that men might see how he is. then In i quote Michah 5.1But you Bethlehem though you are small among the clan of Juda out of you will come for me the one who will be ruler overIsrael whose orgins are from the old ancient times.
So only one is since ancient days God.
Now in Psalm 2. 7 he says to his servent witch he sends you are my son. and in Isaih 7.14 that a virgin would give birth to a son. and that has hapend. read Luke chapter 1& 2
At the end it is a question do you belive or not!!!

Humans can be tempted. Jesus was human and therefore could be tempted.

God cannot sin. Jesus was God and therefore could not sin.

Jesus had to experience temptation to fulfill the human experience, that's all.

And Christians tell you that Jesus is God because Jesus said that he is God (John 8:58)

EDIT:
And as a Muslim, please tell me how you can in good conscience say that you believe the words of an eyewitness to the crucifixion of his best friend (the apostle John) and yet also believe the words of a man who 600 years later who says that the man was never crucified?
