What in the world causes people to just go into a question and thumbs down every answer, regardless of content. Am I the only one who thinks its rude?

The people who do this are just jerks with inferiority complexes. I asked a question for a recipe a week or so ago for chocolate pie. All the answers I received had great sounding recipes, but they all had thumbs down. The only thing about this when it happens that truly bothers me is, I hope the answerers realize that I didn't give them the thumbs down!

I have a few people who give me thumbs down for practically every answer I give. My opinion is that these are people who don't like my answers to the questions they've asked, so they're "stalking" me by giving me thumbs down. What these immature rejects don't realize is that giving someone a thumbs down does nothing other than hide your answer to the question--it won't get you "voted off the island," make you lose points, or anything else. Just goes to show how ignorant and immature these people are.

Judging from the amount of 'thumbs down' that happen so quickly when I post in certain areas, I would guess that there is a band of 'stalkers' who share info...or perhaps one single with multiple accounts. Anyway, if my answer or question is not on the politically correct side of things, I always get a whole raft of thumbs down and the occasional violation.
It's all a matter of perspective and there are some who can see only a single thing and hate everything else.

There..now bring on the thumbs.

People thumbs down an answer when they don't agree with it. I'm certain you're not immune to it either. If an answer makes no sense whatsoever in relation to the question, hey... thumbs down buddy. However, sometimes there are those who just like to disagree with everything and everyone no matter what. They're the ones in the wrong.

I don't know why people do that. It is very wrong. Someone may leave a funny answer, and than low and be hold, that person gets a thumbs down... People just do not have a sense of hummer. I cannot stand those kinks of people, they are lame rude, and dry, and don't have a life to live, they are a ss holes, that are childish that live a very lame life... Hummm, watch me get thumbs down for this...

What kind of question is that?? People are free to disagree whenever they want. If they thumbs down an answer, they didn't agree or maybe it didn't make sense. I've had some answers thumbs downed so fast and so often, even though I thought I gave a good, common sense answer to the question! Hell, I thought I was the the uncrowned "Thumbs Down King" a couple of times! I guess common sense isn't on Y!A. Or maybe, they just don't like your avatar??!

I trhink it is rude... it is of course a matter of opinion... if you didnt want opinions, you wouldnt ask the question right? Just because someone dosent agree with your opininon, does that automatically make it wrong? or worth of a thumbs down? I only thumbs down someone if they belligerent and rude... or someone asks a question such as "Do you prefer McDonalds Or Burgerking?" and a person answers "neither, they both suck." THUMBS DOWN..... NO ONE ASKED IF YOU THOUGHT THE FAST FOOD GIANTS SUCKED!!!

I don't think rude is the word, rather ignorance and immaturity. Thumbs down designations should be for crude or irresponsible answers not because of disagreement. However, this only shows the level of ignorance that is out there. Scary isn't it?

I those people need to get a life. Same for the folks who just go into what ever question and answer something really stupid that doesn't make sense. Why is that fun?

They have nothing better to do apparently. When your life is so full of activity and such fun stuff that you have to go onto yahoo and thumbs down everyone, you know it's a pretty sad thing.

It's all a matter of opinion. Opinions are strictly subjective. You don't have to like theirs, but you have no right to whine and complain about it.
How do you know it's the same person giving the thumbs down to every question? Unless, of course, it's something you do...
