The wonders of the world are based on a book compiled by a man named Heroditus after his journey across the known world. Once "published" it contained all wonders at the same time so not really a first one. But, If you were to read the book I suppose you could find the first by reading which he came across first.

I always thought about how the world seemed to be a place that tended to stay at one common temp and also had a mist off the ground like when it is just below 70s in the morning. Than changed to seasons,rain,hurricanes etc after a flood. To state the flood was natural would be absurd. You need a tragic event to occur to shift it. Also it all seems symbolic.
