How can we create communication devices that will truly reconnect us to people?

"....truly reconnect us to people." You have to have connections with people first to 'reconnect'. The problem with society is that there is little connection between people and no desire for these connections to exist.

People are hedonistic and self centered, resulting in what seems to be an "I'm worth it" society. Having connections results in obligations to others, a big "no no" in today's society.

The "communication device" needed is a society with a "you are worth it" mentality. Great if you can develop one. You will need a return to old fashioned values and principles!
