You might have a grace period, but you need to get a US drivers license. Go to the local DMV get a guide to study, then when you're ready, take the written test and the road test. Once you've passed the written and road test, you can get a license.

What I don't know is how long of a grace period you will have with your UK license. When moving from state to state in the US, you usually have at least 30 days to have your license switched to your new state of residence...you will need to call the local DMV and find out how long you have before you need a US license.

You would need to go through the same tests and restrictions of residents of the State you will be living in. I doubt they will transfer your motorcycle license. Motorbikes are a different story and you would need to check the States restrictions on that.

ITS BEST IF YOU CONTACT YOUR LOCAL (DMV) DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES OFFICE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO ANSWER ANY AND ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU WILL BE GETTING THE CORRECT ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION.
