Im a call center agent and my boyfriend is still a student and is 2 years younger than me.And were apart right now because Im working and was assigned in another location. Its my BF b-day tomorrow and Im a very busy person and instead of buying him a gift I send him money for him to buy something that he like. Am i too rude, lazy or unethical sending money to my BF as a gift rather than buying a gift that maybe he wont or would like. What do u think?!

No, you do what is right for you, because it'll be right for him too. Your money could buy him a slap-up meal and maybe clothes so it's benefiting him. He won't call you rude or lazy!

Frankly, I wish everyone would send me the money. Instead of buying things I must return for better fit. Or useless stuff I don't need or want or can't use. If they sent the money instead, I could buy what I want or need then. I think it was pretty smart of you.

He may enjoy it more, but i would have sent his a gift certificate to Best Buy or something. as long as you sent a caring card, it probably won't matter to him. Guys usually aren't so sensitive about things like that as we are. Just don't be surprised if he ends up doing that for you one day.

you have to ask yourself: would you be upset if he just gave you money. at least get him a gift card from his favorite store if you have no idea...that way he'll know you put a little bit of thought in the gift.

I think giving someone money for their b-day is super lame, but that just might be me. Maybe I am wrong and it's OK, and the Earth is flat, and the sky is green.
