The very South of Israel is desert but around the major urban centers its actually very full of vegetation and agricultural land. and because they fight in more areas than desert, like Lebanon,
Some of the Israeli specialist units wear camo, but most wear plain Green combats, when covered in dust or mud it is an efficient camo pattern.
if fact in the last 15 years the Austrian Army have reverted to plain green combat uniforms!!

Because their generals have stolen the money and they're too cheap to provide their people with the correct clothing and equipment! Typical israel defense force!

They aren't really that green, they are more khaki, or coyote brown. It does blend reasonably well with the environment, however they could do better.

There is not just desert there, besides, green blends in very well during hours of darkness (better than black)
