Here is an example using an original quote/proverb:

"A stitch in time saves nine."

This could be expanded into:

"A little preventive maintenance can eliminate the need for major repairs later."

Or,

"An ounce of prevention prevents a pound of cure."

Expanded into:

"Having a flu shot in advance can save you the time and expense of finding a cure should you become sick."
