Mormons Quote Alma 42:9 from tHE Book of Mormon; Which says "tHE Soul Can (NEVER) die" !

Yet tHE Bible Book of Ezekial 18:4 says "the Soul that is Sinning; it Itself (WILL) Die" ! ! !

When I's; as One of Jehovah's CHRISTIAN Witnesses "Show tHEm" tHE Difference a Mormon Will (ALWAYS) say that the Bible is ONLY Accurate as Far as it IS "Translated" Properly !

Isn't this "REALLY a Catch" 22 Situation ??? !!!

Jehovah's Witnesses ignore the Book of Mormon.

Mormons tend to liken their post-Biblical "Book of Mormon" to the "New" Testament. However, they seem to ignore the fact that the "Old" and "New" Testaments harmonize perfectly, while the latter BoM contradicts these truly inspired writings in dozens and dozens of matters.

Sadly, certain self-described Christians elevate human traditions and personal opinion more highly than the bible itself. Perhaps they have not studied the bible sufficiently to have faith that it is actually and uniquely God's Word.

So what does the bible teach about "the soul"?

A "soul" is a life, with no implication regarding some immortal otherwordly entity. Each deceased life is in Jehovah God's remembrance (with the potential for future resurrection), but the dead do not exist anywhere but memories until and unless the life is resurrected.

(Ezekiel 18:4) The soul that is sinning - it itself will die.

(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all

(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]

(Genesis 2:17) But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.”

(Genesis 17:14) And an uncircumcised male who will not get the flesh of his foreskin circumcised, even that soul must be cut off from his people. He has broken my covenant.”

(Judges 16:30) And Samson proceeded to say: “Let my soul die with the Philistines.” Then he bent himself with power, and the house went falling upon the axis lords and upon all the people that were in it, so that the dead that he put to death in his own death came to be more than those he had put to death during his lifetime.

(Job 33:22) And his soul draws near to the pit, And his life to those inflicting death.

(Psalm 78:50) He did not hold back their soul from death itself; And their life he handed over even to the pestilence.

(Isaiah 53:12) he poured out his soul to the very death

(Acts 3:23) Indeed, any soul that does not listen to that Prophet will be completely destroyed from among the people.’

(Revelation 16:3) And the second one poured out his bowl into the sea. And it became blood as of a dead man, and every living soul died, yes, the things in the sea.

Good thing we have modern revelation!

Ezekial is speaking of "spiritual death" which leads a soul to hell. This does not mean that the soul ceases to exist.

This shouldn't be a hard concept for Christians to understand. Afterall, we believe that when someone dies physically they do NOT cease to exist.

Addtionally, most christians believe in some sort of eternal torment for the souls that sin, and not that they cease to exist. "mainstream christian" beliefs appear to contradict Ezekial if you use your interpretation of it.

Alma is refering to the immoratlity of the soul and the fact that it will always exist.

There is no contradiction here.

People believe and follow parts of the bible they want to..they rearrange what it says in their view so it will fit better to the way they want to live and that is their choice.
And usually when mormons come to my door they never talk about their religion just start trying to have regular conversation and hit on me.. and when i get ones that actually talk about what they are supposed to be talking about i usually give a smart comback or something and they dont know what to say because they cant explain it to me.
