I have Battled breast cancer for tens years.
Unfortunately it is a very expensive disease and doesn't care what your credit scores are.
And neither do the creditors.....Sure they buy the pink ribbons and put the on socks, shoes, buttons, cars, magnets etc...but do they really know the people they are buying the ribbons for?
when they check your score, do they ask why, after years of perfect credit, did it all go wrong?
I have asked them, they replied to me that "the numbers are all they see, it doesn't matter that fate chose you to have cancer, it's just the numbers that count not the people", this was word for word! From all 3 credit corps.
Sad Really!

I feel your pain. I have managed to keep my credit good over three years, but that is only bc i have had help from my parents and other family. And let me tell you, if you have student loans, thats bad. I had a student loan that I thought I had got put on defferment. They started harrassing me last year and then started proceedings to garnish my disability payments. My mom paid the loan (it was only like 2000).

I am on medicaid and medicare, so most of my med bills are covered, but I have like a 200 copay for every hosp stay. Hosp likes to harrass but they havnt turned it to collections yet, not even showing on my credit report. I tried to set up payments but they wont accept anything less than 75 a month, and I just dont know that I can make that.

What gets me is the ppl buy all the ribbons and such thinking they are helping. Where do they think this money is going? I dont know the percentage, but most of it goes to the adminastration costs of these non profits. There are few agencies that will help with out of pocket costs, and today with less than perfect credit you cant do anything. I cant buy a car (not that I could afford it) i cant rent a house or apt in my name, I cant qualify for some jobs (as if my doc would actually let me work) and the list goes on Im sure you know.

Basically you have to just suck it up and do what you can. Learn to live with the basics. Thats what I have done. I live with my sig other, I pay an agreed upon amount of the household bills (a lil less than half) and I pay my phone and car insurance and then brely have enough left pay my copays and parking fees at docs office.

I am really sorry that you are ill.
Have you tried to get Social Security Disability?
Try to call the 211 info line in your state. They might have number of places that you can go to for help.
A credit consolidation place might be able to help you work out something with them.
Next time you need to talk to the credit card company, ask to speak with a supervisor. Or most have either a credit and collection office or a hardship office.
Do you have disability insurance on your card? Just because they tell you that you don't, read you statements

Good Luck and I hope that you things get better for you.

You must understand the differences between a business and a charity. A business is not there to assist individuals with issues such as yours. Charities are in place for such problems. If businesses extended credit to every 'sob story' out there, they would cease to exist in short order.

I empathize with your situation, since medical care IS expensive and financially burdensome. I also encourage you to join a breast cancer sufferer's support group. You are not alone in your situation, and perhaps others there can share with you positive experiences and guide you along as you continue your battle.

Best of luck to you.

An person is authorized to make their very own alternatives, in spite of if or no longer their selection stems from non secular ideals. that's not the case for toddlers regardless of the indisputable fact that, and fogeys have been sued for no longer taking their baby in for mandatory scientific therapy.
