Sooo...I have been dating my boyfriend about a month. We had sex for the first time a few days ago and the lights were off.

What worries me is what guys think about the appearance of the external vaginal area.

My vagina does not look at all like the ones in Playboy...my inner lips extend beyond the outer lips and while they are not long and hanging they are puffy and visible. I am really nervous and having anxiety about what he will think when he sees it if the lights are on or if we have sex during the daytime.

I hate feeling so embarrassed and wonder what guys really think about vulvas that don't look like the ones in Playboy. Do you think my bf will be grossed out?

Vulva are all different . Just like some women have large or small breasts / nipples/ areolas . It is a matter of personal preference . A guy will find that his preference eventually becomes whatever the girl he really cares about has .If he wanted you to change , he's not worth it . Would you ask him to get a penis extension ?

Relax, sweetie. What you describe about yourself is perfectly normal.

Most women don't look like the ones in Playboy...in many other areas besides just the vulva, yet plenty of men are having plenty of sex with girls who aren't in Playboy! So obviously they find us non-Playboy girls attractive too!

I think most men are turned on when they are in bed with a woman...especially if the lights are on because then they are getting the visual stimulation that works so well for them. They are enjoying the moment and not focusing on details like what your vulva look like...and even if they are, they probably like what they see! What us women find unattractive on our bodies most men love, and vice versa. A woman may not understand a guy's obsession with breasts, and a guy may not understand a woman's penis obsession!

I am so happy, it was only a 35 minute drive ( 70 minutes total) but absolutely no sign of anxiety or panic i shopped till I dropped - brilliant! Take it from a man, understand, unless it's smelly or covered in warts, we don't care too much what it looks like as long as we're getting some. Shave it down to a landing strip, that is, shave everything but one single strip about as wide as two fingers starting just above the split. To us, it isn't how they look, but how they feel that's important. Besides, even if a guy didn't like how it looked, if you're giving it to him, I highly doubt he would risk being cut off by telling you. But most likely, he won't even pay attention. An ex-girlfriend of mine worried about this & finally told me her concerns, & I told her I'd never paid attention to how it looks. All that mattered to me was her, not the shape of her parts. Your boyfriend will likely feel similarly.
