I need this on a macro.
AN absence of faith is still a form of spirituality. It's not a lazy shortcut.

Well first off, Atheism, as an objective name, is technically a religion. No doubt many people see it as an easy shortcut out of Christianity, but those not willing to face God's might may as well go there. Secondly, if we consider the idea of Atheism, that being the theory that God does not exist, then we come across the problem of a rather lacking explanation of the term 'Atheism' that leaves a lot to be accounted for, such as the classic 'I don't know and I don't care' attitude exhibited by Agnostics, who simply believe there is something up there, which could be the exact same reason for so called 'Atheists', assuming they are not stereotyping Atheism to the more conventional 'No Religion' idea. As to why they spend so much time here, I will hazard the opinion that they are subconsciously drawn to that which they find mysterious. They need to know more, that is, their subconscious is fighting to decide which path to take. The belief of no God is a quite dismal one, one that I would assume be enough to drive them to come here attempting to find what they believe to be true, at least, their subconscious.

coaching a baby blatant and insulting lies as fact, and the observe of a sky bully, is morally and ethically incorrect. no longer that a backward discipline like christianity might understand morals. Atheists have faith toddlers should not be raised with the ideals of their dad and mom. toddlers could be cautioned each and every attitude and be allowed to make up their very own minds. Atheists in particular take concern with creationism being bought as technology under a pretend pretense. Creationism isn't technology. subsequently ninety 9.8 % of scientists settle for evolution, besides as maximum reasonable non secular human beings. Forcing a faith on a baby from beginning is tantamount to psychological baby abuse. Mutilating a baby's genitals to delight god is sickening. Telling a baby that a paranormal dictator interior the sky is watching in any respect cases and in the event that they do no longer shop on with the despicable morals in a 2000 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous e book they are going to be tortured for ever. That motives trauma and brainwashes toddlers. Is coaching them scientific consensuses not extra advantageous. Telling them that they are loose to have faith those products in the event that they prefer, yet giving them logic and reason, to be waiting to view this nonsense objectively.

Please understand that (in my sense of it anyway) atheists don't "lurk" in the R&S section. They just see the questions on the main page and are compelled to answer. The real injustice is that so many religious cocksure people consider the R&S domain as their rightful place on this questions and answers forum. This is a takeover, pure and simple. There is zero spirituality expressed here, just religious dogma, which is in this atheist's opinion not only myth but an unfortunate sign of the intellectual bankruptcy of the human spirit in this country. Sorry if that does not sit well with you, but I hope you appreciate that honesty is a quality with some grace and virtue, and that's all I'm expressing here. Honesty. Your presumption that there is some dire consequence in not converting to your way of thinking is disingenuous. With all due respect, this point of view is arrogant and not based in reality. When you die and your brain dies, how does your thought process work if your brain is dead? Oh, I know, let me guess. By magic. The problem with that is that any other kind of magic or legerdemain that is performed by artists of the craft of magic is understood to be fake -- it's not "real" magic, but the whole point for this particular brand of entertainment is to fool you and make you wonder what the "trick" behind it is. You know there's a trick behind it, you don't for one minute believe it's really magic. So why isn't religious belief open to the same scrutiny as magic tricks, whether it be by scientific testing or by common sense analysis, as magic tricks are interpreted.

Why do humans hang out in the cats section?
R&S isn't just for the religious and spiritual, its for anyone who wants to talk/joke/ask/answer about anything to do with religion and spirituality.
P.S.
'Maybe spend it choosing the marinade they want to roast in for an eternity'
I've actually made a deal with god where I will be fried in the colonels secret recipe instead of a roasting, but either way, nice display of christian affection, *****.

Where should we go to talk about religion?
Just because we don't believe in god doesn't change the fact that religion affects our life. We live in a country with quite a few religious zealots and feel our views need to be represented to protect our rights as Americans.
Besides we think you guys are a riot. Good comedy.

Hello faith sucks.
I couldn't count the number of times this infantile question has been asked by the naiive.
It takes some incredible lack of intelligence to even ask it.
Look, One does not have to be suffering from cancer to be interested in discussing a cure. One does not have to be suffering from religion to be interested in discussing a cure.
God is pathetic. A failure and, were it employed as a creator somewhere, it would have been fired a long time ago for incompetence and spreading lies.

Well, lack of Religion is still an issue to be discussed in this forum.
You may not like it, but they are entitled to their opinions as much as you are.
There are people on both sides of the fence that need to realize that the other side is not going away anytime soon and just stop complaining about it.
I struggle with it to, but just learn how to debate something without getting angry or using harsh terms.
"Maybe spend it choosing the marinade they want to roast in for an eternity"
Very nice. I have no doubt in my mind that you are purposefully attempting to anger anyone who is an atheist.
You need to find something more productive to do with YOUR time.
If you can't contribute something intelligent, than you should find something else to do.

this non-believer hangs out here in case there's another questioning heart who really wants to know how to be free of all the crappiola.... there are those who would let it go and be free if it was gently told to them that it's okay to question, okay to decide otherwise.... without all the terrible things that some folks say on here.... maybe I can be more gentle with my responses....
plus, it IS entertaining.....

I am an atheist. I spend time here on Yahoo! Answers R&S because I have answers. I spend time here to refute the lies told about atheists and atheism.
How nice. I love you too, and hope you don't roast in hell either when you find out your god is the wrong god to worship. I always am amazed by the christian love exampled in their messages.
