I have a surgery scar that is over 2 years old and now it has turned red and is starting to itch. Does anyone know why it would be doing that? Should I be worried? If you think you can help please try. Thank you all.

I would not worry. I had a c-section almost 7 years ago. Sometimes the scar gets irritated and itches. Don't know why but after a day or so it goes away. Try using an anti itch cream.

Confused,
I had surgery which left a very long scar that occasionally itched. I don't remember redness, though. I would ask your doctor if you need to be seen. It could be that your scratching made it red, not that it was red first, then became itchy. But a phone call should clear it up. I know a lot of people who have itchy scars for a while, then it goes away, not a serious concern. Early in your healing it actually indicates it is healing.
